A Brief Break
 

Posting this so no one worries about me being one of those join-post a few times-and leave members. I am taking a brief break from the forum and the internet in general to focus on completing the Ars Infernum screenplay. I shall return in a week or two. Finished First Draft
 

I finished the first draft to Ars Infernum: Experiment No. 13 a bit sooner than expected. It runs nearly seven full pages and I expect it to run 6 and 1/2 to 8 minutes once filmed. Thus, I have returned to a more routine posting habit. Allow me to let you in on AI:EN13 though.

AI:EN13 is a short film that would fall under the exploitation/dark fantasy sub-genres of horror. The story: Lucian Rival is a young man with an interest in the dark arts of magic who has taken it upon himself to experiment with various rites, rituals, and spells in order to determine which ones are useful and which are not. He keeps a video journal of these experiments as a way to document his progress. On December 25, 2006 he will perform his most gruesome experiment yet...and the results promise to be one of the most disturbing atrocities ever caught on tape.

I am letting this first draft rest for a while. You know, getting away from it while I think it's the greatest thing ever. I will come back to it next week and go over it with a fine-toothed comb (and that special shampoo). Until then... I take my place here among other horror-mongers:D

It's going to be more like Last House on the Left horror, mixed with Warlock horror, mixed with The Blair Witch Project reality. As for the boob thing... sorry guys, the wife has a no nudity clause that applies to all of my movies. Don't worry though, I am quite likely to find a loophole in it though. For instance, really wet white t-shirts or guest directors. There's always a way;) .

i see rod lovin his wife and kids in al his posts but he doesnt hesitate to mention that he is down to write all the necessary bits for his stories, maybe you should take a page out the ol guys book? as in :Real Life : love wife and kids be a good guy; Writing/Producing/Directing etc : show huge fake tits and kill dogs and kids (if necessary only, of course)

But yeah, Spec7ral has a point. Seperation of life and art is essential in order to maintain sanity...but it ain't easy. I can feel my sanity slipping at times, but that's the line you have to walk.

Get the wife used to the idea that you may purging your subconscious through your art, and in this process all bets are off. If you don't give yourself carte blanche to create, you may end up with work that feels stifled.

Haven't met the lead chick yet, I trust Louse Casket's judgement enough to know he got a good girl.

Louse says she's not a hooker...she just has no qualms about doing just about anything on camera. I have no qualms about handing my scripts off to Louse to produce either. It'll get in there, I just won't be there on the set.

That would work on a woman that was just hesitant to allow it. However, my wife's view points are religious based. Thus, things are a bit harder than just getting her used to it.
