My trip is done!!!

I'm back from Maui, and I had a great time. It's definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The whales were migrating through when I got there, and I saw tons. They're the most awesome things on earth up close. I got to swim with sea turtles and found a baby polka dotted moray eel on the reef. I hiked through a rain forest two miles up a mountain to see Wailuku falls, and got rained on a LOT lol.
This was the best trip of my life, I think.
I'll post my pictures tomorrow.....my eyes are crossing I'm so tired:)
I missed you guys, though. Even though the drama can be tiring, I still love ya.:D
Ah, home sweet home. :p

Miss Olivia 03-28-2007 10:22 PM

Wow....that sounds ominous.
Has it been that bad?

bloodrayne 03-28-2007 10:24 PM

Aww...Don't you hate it when you have to come back home and it's all just a memory?...Good to see that you made it back safely though

Miss Olivia 03-28-2007 10:28 PM

Yeah, I want to move there now lol.
I think the most danger I was in was having to eat the airline food. On the ride back today, they handed out hot submarine sandwiches that were basically hotdog rolls with gross heated cotto salami and fake cheese.....I amost puked. YUCK.
You figure for what you pay to fly, they'd at least hand out some salads or something!

Welcome back Miss O! Hopefully the vacation served you well & helped to clear your head of all the drama going on at home! It sounds like it probably did. :D

This reminded me of something. I went to Acapulco about 7 years ago with a couple buddies. We got to our hotel & checked in and just as we were getting to our room, one of my buds says "Just think, in a week this will all just be a memory." For some reason that pissed me off! If he had waited until the last day we were there to say something like that, it woulda been fine, but we had literally JUST arrived and he was already talking like it was over. What a fuckin' buzzkill. Oh well, me & my other friend paid him back in spades for that... Haha. He brought a chick back to our room one night and basically told me and our other buddy to get lost, but it was like 4 am and we were beyond drunk and we didn't wanna go back out to the bars, so we opted to go sit on our patio and smoke a few joints. Well, we were sitting out there getting lit and we decided it'd be fun to play the game Spanish Channel on our bud & his ladyfriend. We figured it was dark outside, but light in the hotel room so they could not see us, so we played Spanish Channel for like an hour on them.

(For anyone that doesn't know what Spanish Channel is, allow me to explain this... You get all fucked up with a few friends, then turn on the Spanish television channel, you each pick a character and make up dialogue when your character is speaking on screen. Sometimes it's lame, other times it'll end up being hilarious. It all depends on the state you're in and who you're with.)

So we Spanish channeled our buddy and the chick for a while. Eventually the girl left & we went back inside. To our amusement and surprise, our buddy (the buzzkiller) says "What were you guys doing out there?" We told him we played Spanish Channel and burned a few and then he says "She kept asking why you guys were looking at us the whole time and laughing." Hahaha! Whoops! Sorry to cockblock you like that Mr. Buzzkiller, but we honestly didn't think they could see out the window into the dark. :D

Maui is magic....I have so many cool pictures, but it takes SOOO long to load the dang things.:p

It was definitely one of the best adventures I've ever had, for sure. We rode to Hana in the back of a truck, on a futon. We had a tarp to cover us when it started to rain, and a cooler full of beer and drinking water.
I want to live there now lol. I gained about three pounds eating gas station food, though. Chili and rice is addictive lol.

crabapple 04-01-2007 04:34 PM

I went to the islands a couple of times in the 70's...got to visit an old farm on Maui and took a bath in the furo, which is a big metal washtub sitting on stacks of bricks, and there is a fire underneath to heat the water. This was quite an interesting experience!

Miss Olivia 04-01-2007 04:43 PM

LOL sounds interesting.....and dangerous.:p

Disease 04-02-2007 03:18 PM

Ah hu, It sounds like you had an unexpected good time, Kind of the Same way I did when I went to Fiji.

See I told you there was nothing to worry about.

LOL for sure....it rained on us every so often in the back of the truck on the Hana highway, and then it POURED on us while we hiked up the mountain. The first time we hid under this massive banyan tree until it let up, but after that we got all primitive and decided the rain was great. It made the ground pretty treacherous, but it was worth it. At one point I got ahead of everybody else in the bamboo forest, and it was such a cool feeling, like you really are alone in there, and it was very dark and very green.
I can't wait to go back in September.:D

Thanks for the kind words, guys:)

crabapple 04-03-2007 12:45 PM

"A brave man likes the feel of nature on his face!"

"Yeah, and a wise man has enough sense to get out of the rain!!"

Miss Olivia 04-03-2007 01:39 PM

Fortunately, there were no Wing Kong on the mountain.:p

Miss Olivia 04-03-2007 02:19 PM

LOL yes, actually.
It's very culturally mixed on the island, and it was interesting being the minority for a change.
I like the diversity, it makes the food even better.:D

Despare 04-03-2007 03:02 PM

Looks like you had a blast, welcome back.

Ash's_evil_hand 04-03-2007 03:12 PM

That raging waterfall looks amazing. And the volcanic beach - a few months ago a couple of friends of mine went off to New Zealand for a 3 month visit, and when they asked if I would like anything bringing back I asked for a volcanic rock. Bless 'em, they went and got me a bagful!

You sound like you had a great time. Good to see you back :)

crabapple 04-03-2007 04:37 PM

Yes and we loves you

Miss Olivia 04-03-2007 09:22 PM

Well, I loves you guys too.:p

I keep wishing for mango glazed bbq ribs. I'm gonna have to find a recipe somewhere.
Yay ribs.
