Uncle Daddy Teaser Trailer

this is just a short teaser trailer for our upcoming and probably first full length Super low budget horror movie , Uncle Daddy from JonNation Films.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8GpFDWu98Q

tell us what you think. thanks.

tic 10-08-2007 11:01 AM

hmm, looks promising

Abominus 10-08-2007 03:58 PM

I love the opening tune. It looks to have potential but it's hard to tell if it is anything other than a generic c grade slasher from the trailer. Good luck, it looks like a lot of fun.

Jon_Nation_Films 10-08-2007 11:13 PM

thanks we tried for original ,i think the script in itself is really original ,but the ending is a MUST SEE thats all ima say lol.

Brxan 10-10-2007 10:06 AM

It looks alright. The Uncle Daddy character, at least I'm assuming who Uncle Daddy is in the trailer looks really cool.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 10-10-2007 02:52 PM

not gonna lie, wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

FilmFan67 10-10-2007 04:11 PM

I'm interested to see the final film. Can anyone say, a budding Rob Zombie?

Hey, if any low budget filmmakers out there are looking for some soundtrack stuff, atmospheric, industrial stuff, let me know. I produce my own music. I'd be interested in getting some of my work into an indie flick.

Check out some of my sounds...

http://drewvics.com/clips/deep-blue-...d-industry.mp3
http://drewvics.com/clips/deep-blue-charm/Creepers.mp3
http://drewvics.com/clips/deep-blue-...aticLegacy.mp3
http://drewvics.com/clips/deep-blue-...h-the-mist.mp3

Please don't just use these tunes. Ask me first. I would consider letting someone use my stuff with just a credit mention, but to make something exclusively for a movie, we'd have to talk first.

Am I the only one who thinks "Uncle Daddy" is a HORRIBLE name for a horror flick?

Well, I wouldn't say horrible, but it did strike me as a little odd. Maybe it will make more sense once we see what the story is about.

Maybe it needs punctuation, like "Uncle, Daddy!" since the use of the word uncle in this movie may not be in the familial sense.

Which part did you play?

Anyway, let's try to stop promoting the movie a little less eh Jon? You wouldn't want to create too much hype would you? We all know how overhyped movies end up. Oversaturation of the market with advertising is not the answer.

Jon_Nation_Films 10-11-2007 08:49 PM

lol my name isnt jon , its the company name JON-NATION ... but i'm just trying to get an idea of what we need to fix what we should change etc etc.

so basically UNCLE DADDY fits pefectly ....

5 friends are on a roadtrip to mexico and decide to take a shortcut (before you say cliche ... pay attention) .... they find theirselves caught between the midst as psycho sick twisted imbred murderer, and a money hungry murderous bank robber on the run...... UNCLE DADDY >>> who's been hiding in the backwoods for decades hiding from the US army since he was dishonorably discharged for *saving that lil info for the film viewers* now UNCLE DADDY referrs to the fact well ,he's creating and raising an army of imbred children ranging from really small to 15-20 yrs ... there for uncle/daddy is a term/name because as much imbreeding is going on you dont know if hes an uncle or a daddy...<<<<<<< and WYATT the escaped bank robbing murderous convict on the run so ... there's alot of IMO original death scenes ,i mean its super low budget so we cant afford to make it in a professional studio and whatnot, but we have an awesome editor, great actors , and an awesome script ,

not trying for overhype just want feedback ,tell us what you'd wanna see, what you dont like etc etc etc. we got plenty of scripts in the works this will be the first full length though ,ran into some problems with our short, seems our actor for uncle daddy accidentally stabbed himself while playing a diff. role on the short film , but its all good uncle daddy will be back in production soon i'll keep you guys updated that are interested, and those who arent, if you will tell us whats wrong, what you'd wanna see to fix it ,we value our work so we try to make B horror movies for B horror fans.

You pimping your movie less on HDC.

FilmFan67 10-12-2007 06:41 PM

There's a part in the trailer where it says, "Say Uncle"

So I assumed that the "uncle" part of the title might mean "let me up I've had enough!"

But I see it was just an advantageous play on words there. Uncle Daddy makes odd sense. The plot outline is interesting.

Jon_Nation_Films 10-13-2007 06:28 AM

yeah lol its like

WHO'S YOUR DADDY?

SAY, UNCLE!

oh yeah i heard your tracks those are awesome man , we're taking a week or two break right now on production the writer/director's wife just had their 2nd baby >>> its a boy ,but i'll show him your tracks next time i go that way and see what he think im sure he'll love them too and if you dont care it'd be awesome if we could use them in some of our movies.

GorePhobia 10-19-2007 11:56 AM

Uhhh yeah....
no thanks

Thanks. I've been working on some other stuff, nothing complete yet

If you find a place where the sounds fit right go ahead and use them. That would be cool. Just contact me and keep me informed.

honestly the name fits and The Asylum wants to put it out on dvd in blockbusters when we're finished just havent made any agreements yet. btw we're starting over made some slight casting changes and a wardrobe change for uncle daddy added a bit more of a backstory to make loose ends tie, this is gonna be sent in for the jan. film festival in LA , shortly after were done with this were gonna set up some meetings with some local investors and some other well known investors about sponsering the rest of our upcoming features

we really wanted everyones harsh critisism what needs to be fixed what would make it better and so on ,but if youre looking to get a name change it wont happen other then that were always open for creative critisism, obviously since its low budget we dont have the means to have all the equip we need to make it studio sound stage quality ,but i think the quality of the script stands out personally and i didnt even write it the director did.

again ,just here to get opinions good and bad ,its cool if youre not feeling the concepts or titles and what not we understand not everyone will like certain things , just wanna give the majority of b horror movie fans what they wanna see.

I guess the time for a name change really has passed, I mean you're already counting your chickens.

If I ever see "Uncle Daddy" anywhere, I'm buying it though. Just because of the dumb name.

GorePhobia 10-29-2007 07:55 AM

When I see it I will point at it and say, "Hey guys this is a movie from a guy who randomly came to HDC to tell us about it. What a stupid name." and then walk away.

FilmFan67 11-04-2007 05:00 AM

Wow, this is a tough crowd. Do any of you guys have your indie trailers posted for us to view? I'd be interested in seeing some....

No trailers? Oh, so you guys really have the clout to knock around JNF's indie flick. If he's serious that this thing will be released at blockbuster I'd be interested in seeing it. I'd rent it. We only saw a trailer. Sure it's kind of a weird name, but maybe it will fit once we see the whole movie.

One thing is for sure, the name is DIFFERENT. And just fucked up enough for a fucked up indie horror film.

This is one reason I don't paricularly care to frequent forum communities. Typically you get a bunch of people knocking someone else's stuff just for a laugh. Get on with it and make your own movies then. Where are they? If you've got something better to show let's see it.

If it's got a stupid name, it's got a stupid name. It's like calling some movie Mister Butter Sprinkles...and I say this without reading the premise at all, because the name is all I'm commenting on.
However, if the first of a film someone sees IS in fact the name, and they find it to be stupid, well, I'm sure you know how initial perception can effect someones likelihood of watching a movie.
Hey, they've got someone here to say they'll buy it just because of the stupid name, isn't that enough?
People can either shun all criticism and be dogmatic, self absorbed fuckwits like say Uwe Boll, or they can use it constructively to better themselves, or in this case, better the public perception of a film...?
We offer learning tools here, see? You can either throw them like a baby, or pick them up and use them to build something.

FilmFan67 11-04-2007 05:24 AM

These guys aren't trying to help JNF improve, they're just knocking for the sake of knocking it.

Phalanx 11-04-2007 05:32 AM

That's your perception...maybe YOU'RE not helping by coddling him?
Not saying that's my personal take, just something I thought I'd throw out there.
Not everyone sees things the same as yourself...

Despare 11-04-2007 06:12 AM

FilmFan...

This person isn't trying to sell movies to only filmmakers, he's trying to get horror fans to buy into it. While I'm sure a lot of people on here do have projects related to the genre... that doesn't matter. You can't say that Ebert's opinion is invalid just because Beyond the Valley of the Dolls sucked (if you felt it did). The point is that this movie hype is spam. This person and seemingly you came to this board not to join in the discussions and tournys and all-around fun and THEN casually mention your projects but merely came here to try and hype your wares. The movie looks like shit and your pathetic attempt at convincing us that you're not involved with the movie is shit. Hell, I probably would have netflixed this one just for laughs but this forceful promotion leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

AUSTIN316426808 11-04-2007 10:09 PM

This isn't a forum for indie trailers, it's mainly for discussing movies. You have a movie and we're discussing how ridiculous it seems to be. You came here looking for feedback, get it, then whine because nobody's jumping for joy. If it ticks you off that much, then by all means, leave.

And as for the name...
It doesn't matter if it fits or not, still doesn't negate the fact that it's utterly stupid. Man in the Mob would've been a fitting title for Goodfellas, but stupid regardless. Of course, that still wouldn't have been half as stupid as Uncle Daddy.

Jon_Nation_Films 11-05-2007 04:04 PM

you guys are a riot lol .. stop being so net sensitive , i said that The Asylum is going to pick this up and put it on dvd , and that i VALUE HONEST FEEDBACK NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE ,you guys are chirping like i cried ,and im not a guy for the ten millionth time ,im the female director/music engineer/graphic designer of JON NATION FILMS <<< company name not mine.... ... all i said was that im not changing the title,so if the title turns you off then its cool with us ..... of course its ODD ,its one of those movies you're gonna walk pass in blockbuster like "wtf?! uncle daddy .... wtf is that about ,and GENERALLY most of you will pick the box up and check the back to see what its about.... right or wrong ... so relax with all the sensitivity ... its the internet.... of course you're allowed your opinion and i'm allowed mine ,i like the title, you dont, big deal and i hardly think that 1 thread on 1 forum accounts for "OVER HYPING" a movie ... seriously ... did i say "OMG all of you gotta see this movie its the best horror movie ever" .... ..... no i was simply putting a word out for other ppl that are intrested and for honest feedback(*thanks to those that have gave some insight good or bad*) ,so ...... i dont see what the fuss is about ... if there's anything other then the title you feel needs to be changed or altered by my guest to point it out.

of course the quality isnt professional thats the whole idea of LOW BUDGET so anything other then picture quality or title ..... we're open for suggestions.

AUSTIN316426808 11-05-2007 04:33 PM

Nobody's being sensitive spammer, this is a forum. Also, nobody walks into Blockbuster anymore. Honestly, why'd you come to this forum OTHER than to hype your flick?

FilmFan67 11-05-2007 06:52 PM

I thought this did start out as a discussion. That's how I started.

Sure I posted links to my stuff so JNF could check it out, and maybe some others, but that wasn't my intention when I joined the forum. I wanted to talk to people about horror movies, and not necessarily indie films. I stumbled onto this post and just commented. I had no clue how long JNF had been a member. Didn't care, just jumped into the conversation.

Anyone else interested in drawing this disaster to a close?

I just don't think it looks good just my honest opinion.

And yes FilmFan I do have short films and such.
