halloween

It is getting closer and I'm excited, I'm sure we all are....

What is your daily update and what did you do halloween related today?

For me, I guess the only thing I did was go shopping for a severd finger to put in our honey jar to try and stop our flatmates from eating it... but I couldn't find one...

GorePhobia 10-19-2007 06:10 PM

Nothing for me really. Just being ready to do my show on Halloween and watching horror flicks.

crabapple 10-19-2007 06:41 PM

The only Halloween things I did today were: I listened to a spooky music tape with monster songs on it, and I put a ceramic pumpkin in the window with a battery-operated simulated candle (the fake candle really looks neat!).

missmacabre 10-19-2007 07:18 PM

Apparently I'm not going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show now. Fort George ghost tours are sold out so I'm not going to that.

I might go to a haunted house this weekend and go for a haunted tour of the local theatre next weekend.

newb 10-19-2007 07:30 PM

I drank a pumpkin beer.

crabapple 10-19-2007 07:52 PM

Here, here! to Pumpkin Beer.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 10-19-2007 07:57 PM

murderdoll has seemed different lately

dewaholic 10-19-2007 10:05 PM

Well I did do something (not much) halloween related today. I looked for decorations. But I couldn't find any.

crabapple 10-20-2007 03:51 AM

I want to go to some local stores and see what kind of lovely Halloween things they have available.

Despare 10-20-2007 06:48 AM

Probably nothing on Halloween this year, horror movie watching will increase before it, and of course I hit the largest haunted house in the world. Doesn't really feel "right" this year though. Maybe it's because I have a lot to do on Halloween...

It all sits atop my kid's head.

I cut the brim off a baseball cap and ran a coat hanger through it and bent the coat hanger around "shoulder-shaped" pieces of foam core.

I then hot-glued two cardboard dowels (from a coathanger) to the underside of foam core to give it greater stability. The cardboard dowels are hot glued to a pair of backpack straps.

Then I put a black shirt and black cape over the top, making sure to rip holes in the side of the shirt for my son's arms to poke through (the cape covers this simple puppeteering trick quite well) and he puts his hands through the shirt's sleave just at the cuff.

The bloody neck stump was made with foam core as well. I made a cross out of two pieces of foam core that fit the neck hole of the shirt. Then I glued dozens of small pieces of foam core to that frame until they fit the general shape of a neck stump. I then used my Dremel grinder to shape it - spay painted it red and finally cut out several rings of foam core, glued them together and into place top make the exposed neck bone.

Finally, the wife cut out two panels in the front of the shirt and sewed black pantyhose in their place. So my boy can actually see - you can see his eyes in the bottom of the photo.

now THATS fucking creative......well done Rod.

ferretchucker 10-20-2007 12:01 PM

it is excellent. Really astonishing. The best I've ever had was white all over my face, black around my eyes, slicked back hair, fake blood, blck clothes and a cape. I was a vampire. But I still think my mum did a good job.

newb 10-20-2007 12:05 PM

Last year I made my youngest son the puppet from SAW.....my oldest son manages a video store and used it in a display.

ferretchucker 10-20-2007 12:27 PM

Well...the mouth didn't work...other than that I suppose you could.

ferretchucker 10-20-2007 12:33 PM

Cool. You should have gone up to him with it behind your back and said in your normal voice

"I'm bored, so it's time to play a game" then given it to him.

tic 10-20-2007 01:56 PM

I got a Glow in the Dark "Jason/Hockey" mask. Not to wear, (though obviously I tried it on ;)) I'm making a wall decoration.

I've found an old photo frame, going to get a black background to put in it, then display the mask as a picture.

missmacabre 10-20-2007 04:05 PM

I did a run through of my halloween hair and makeup.

Disease 10-21-2007 09:03 AM

I bought another pumpkin, it makes the one I already had seem dwarfed...

brigid 10-21-2007 09:45 PM

Nice one Rod, what did your Zombie die from?

It looks like he had already been shot through the brain....

Ha!:p

It started off as a small gash, but my kid kept yanking at the latex and toilet paper wound I made. That was a shot taken at the end of the night when the make-up had taken a turn for the worse.

Disease 10-29-2007 01:04 PM

You don't want to see my zombie picks from the end of the night, or then again maybe you do.... but I don't, they just aren't pretty....

GorePhobia 10-29-2007 01:17 PM

Pictures look good.

Here are some zombie looking pics from a movie I did makeup for.
