Urgeok2
Does your ID stand for Urge Overkill? I like that band...Well, at least the song called "Sister Havana."
|
Private message feature is useful for this sorta stuff.
even though i would sorta like to find out. :) |

I figured he was trying to mystically contain a demon called Koegru by invoking its name backwards several thousand times.
|
tens of thousands of times :)

It is from Urge Overkill. he mentioned it in a post probably a year or two ago.

just for the crazy fun of it all - here's the whole enchalada :
i first joined the internet once it became available to the public many years ago (up til then it was mostly command line based available to mostly university kids. When i called to set up an account - the guy said - pick a name that's unique. for some reason i didnt thing 'firstname lastname2' or something like that - i thought he wanted me to pick something crazy that no one else would have though of. so .. at work i was using band names for passwords (which changed every month - so a theme helped) I was using urgeok (yes - for urge overkill) at the time so i gave that as a name - and after all these years it's all ive used. i like the band - a lot - have all the albums ... but i wouldn'd normally give myself a nickname of a band i liked. I thought it was going to be a code thing - not something my email was based on. anyway - i never change anything once i have it - so it stuck. the funny part of the story is that - had i signed onto the internet a few months earlier when my password theme was godzilla monsters - i could have easily been called Mothra all this time. a long, uninteresting expaination - but there you have it. |

And it's not "uninteresting", women love detail, haven't you realized that? lol We like everything spelled out to us and done in meticulous manners...:) |

I always figured that's what it stood for....good Chi-town band. |
Im actually kinda glad this thread was made. What does everyone else's name mean while we're at it.

Mine is pretty obvious:D
I like this thread too;) I have wondered about Urges for a long time. |
Oh,the 45769 part is my zip code.

well, it's like this, during puberty your body goes through changes directly linked to the process of reproduction. eventually this results in certain urges. as we scientists like to call : the tinglies. |
It's all about controlling those Urges.
|
Mine is obviously from The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue. The "e" got left out of Manchester because there was a limit to the number of letters in usernames.
Unlike Urge, I have used heaps of different usernames over the years. I was actually thinking about it a few days ago - I think the first username I ever used was "hammurabi". That was for BBS's, before the world wide web. |
Mine has two parts I guess. First - if you put a De in front of my name you get Demonique (rather descriptive as well). Second - my cousin's name is Angelique so I figured it just natually followed.
|
Mine's extremely simple: I'm a fan of Hammer Studios.
|
My name's meant to be ironic.
|
THough this thread is about Urgeok.....I figure I'd be like everyone else...
My is a blend of Horror characters> Leprucky "Leprechaun" +"Chucky" Cougar= I thought Freddy's name was Cougar and not Krugger--I know I am a fool...but later on once I got "schooled" I thought Cougar sounded better anyway... |

thats classic ! right up there with crazy ralph spelling his nick wrong :) |
The only part i didnt figure out on my own was "Cougar", but reading the explanation, I dont think i would have. :)
I have told this many times, but I will again, just because I like the sound of my own voice. Back in '99, when my cheap-ass family finally got an internet connection, I was playing a lot fo the quake 3 demo online, and went through quite a few name changes. Being the big dork I am, i went by "Vlad O'Vostok" for a while, obviously a play on Vladivostok, a city in russia. Then i thought "Hey, Russia is the home of Vodka, so I could be uber-geeky and call myself 'Vlad O'Vodstok'. I am soo cool" At this point, it would be another couple of years before i would once again feel the warmth of a woman's touch, for the record... Eventually i dropped the "Vlad O'" from the front because I thought "Vodstok" sounded cool. Since then, i have used it for everything from a D&D character, a story character, and as my name in any online game, most notably when I was part of a counterstrike clan. And everywhere i use it, people end up calling me "Vod". My favorite was when I was running game servers at my job a few years back, I was pounding the crap out of several co-workers, and one of them said "Who the hell is Vodstok? Quit shooting me godamnit!" |
Mine's pretty geeky. I used to play on habbo hotel and you know people can pretend to do actions by put ***these*** around them. Well, anyway, one day I decided it was fun to chuck ferrets doing that. I did it to people. Then when I came to make a new account on habbo it seemed to fit.
What annoys me is on xbox live somebody called themselves ferretchucker, and another ferretthrower. I know they stole it from me because they made the accounts after and I've searched the web, it's only me that had that as a name before those two. |

yep, like when people get the lyrics to a song wrong.
here's a true story : we had these friends - the guy was a good guy - but his wife ... cuckoo for coconuts .. she relayed a story to us - (i cant believe she admitted it) about how they were watching the news and there was a boxer talking about a fight ... the invterviewer asked : "and after that hit, what state were you in ?" to which the boxer replied "Ohio" and the girl started laughing like crazy and said : "thats not a state !!!" |

This one guy I met from Oregon when I was in Vegas, when I told him I was from Baltimore he was like: "Alabama, right?" I went: Um no....far from it...Maryland. He must've been joking, but I couldn't tell. He kept a straight face for a good 30 secs. |

It's from Diablo. I thought it way cool as hell that there was a creature called Flayed One. My name from site to site varies from Flayed and Eaten to The Flayed One to just Flayed. I actually signed up here originally as Flayed and Eaten, but it was a letter or so too long.

and when you had that weird big haircut it was Kid and Flayed.. hoo boy ! |

My name's from a M.U.D. I used to play called Ancient Anguish. The proper spelling of the word was reserved so I changed it to DeSpare.

Heh - well, my story begins with a rather annoying young member named Vampenguin. He wasn't particularly well liked around here, but he stuck around anyway and eventually became a pretty constructive poster that was somewhat well-respected - until one of his most staunch rivals was made a moderator, got wasted, and banned everyone that he didn't like. This was the end of Vampenguin.
Then there was the Dark_Hero, who came to avenge the fallen. A similar fate befell him short months afterward, however no explanation has been given. Not being one to give up, the Dark_Hero "Returned" later that very day...and hence "The_Return" was born. (In case you didnt catch that - I got banned twice for no apparent reason, but by golly I keep on coming back :p ) |
