Ghost Rider

Anyone hear about the upcoming Ghost Rider film, based upon the comic book? Id reely like to know anything i possibly can, bein a fan of the comic and horror films.

avenger00soul 10-07-2003 06:13 PM

All I know about this one is that Nick Cage is playing Ghost Rider. I'm not pumped up about that.

Sick_As_Fuck 10-07-2003 11:05 PM

I heard about this from my brother who's a huge Marvel Comics fan. Personally I don't really enjoy comic book movies. The only comic related movie I'd ever watch is a Wolverine movie, or a remake of the Spawn movie. The first one was garbage.

roguesblight 10-12-2003 11:08 PM

I am into Marvel Comics almost as much as horror! Especially
X-Men and Spider-Man, And I also like the Fantastic Four. Blade I never read but he's been in Spidey issues and so has Punisher so I like them also. Now Ghost Rider I've only read one or two issues, but my brother is really hyped about this movie and he should know because he reads them all....Marvel and DC and I believe some Image and Top Cow. As for Nicolas Cage, I like him when he does comedy and action, but I would have to ask my Brother if he would be a good Ghost Rider. And I'm sure it would depend on which Ghost Rider he plays, since there is more than one, I believe!

avenger00soul 10-13-2003 05:38 AM

There's two Ghost Riders. Cage would be a more believable Johnny Blaze but I still don't like him.

Killer Clown#1 10-13-2003 05:42 AM

I have this awsome comic book titled "Spiderman vs Ghost Rider" its awsome:)

knee jerk 10-19-2003 03:38 AM

As far as I'm concerned, Nic Cage hasn't been good since "Valley Girl." Now THAT'S a good movie!
He just does all this schmaltzy stuff or else bad BAD action movies. Of course, there's "Adaptation" but that was just a cool story, and Cage was sorta not all that great in it.

I originally heard that Johnny Depp was in the running for the title role and that woulda been way cool. As far as I know that didn't happen. Oh well, that cat's been on a roll lately. In fact, just went to see "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" again tonight.
Great flick!
Anyway....sorry....I'd be the first in line to see a "Ghost Rider" movie. No way it could be as bad as that terrible "Daredevil" or that God-awful "Hulk."

OH MY GOSH! you hurt me three times! Cage is okay, does better in comedy of course, but i like him alright in all his fliks.
I'm a Marvel Comics fan and collector, and I loved Daredevil and The Hulk! And even if they weren't the most fabulous films in the world, anything that boosts Marvel's popularity I am all for! I hope they make more Daredevil movies! Hell, I hope they make more of any Marvel movie. Problem is I know sooner of later stars will want to move on or something will happen (ie..Christopher Reeve) and that will either put an end to the movies or force a re-cast. And re-casts are hard cause ya get used to someone being that character.

roguesblight 10-19-2003 09:54 PM

Oh yeah, even tho I like Cage...I was not for him playing Superman. He was suppose to but something happened. Don't know what, but i am glad it did. Cage may be cool to me, but Superman he is not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

roguesblight 10-19-2003 09:58 PM

um me again, I forgot to mention that yes, Depp woulda been good for the role in Ghost Rider. Is it for sure a no go for him?

knee jerk 10-20-2003 11:01 PM

Oh roguesblight.......roguesblight....

How can you POSSIBLY back that painful scene in "Daredevil" where Affleck and Garner met, then fought each other on the playground and on the see-saw?

Honestly.....that was about as bad as anything in "Batman & Robin".......EVEN Ah-nold as Mr. Freeze.

oh but I love corny romance! and to me that was the start of their romance. And I liked Batman & Robin also!! I love anything comic related. Even the corny & bad acting! And the little fight, if ya wanna call it that, between them is soooo comic book! I love that! And I am also happy with whatever form of comic movie I can get. Any form promotes the popularity of the comic world!

avenger00soul 10-23-2003 04:28 PM

Holy Shit...just heard this one is going to be rated PG-13!!!

meetthecreeper 10-27-2003 05:23 PM

PG-13 are you shittin me. That will ruin it, Cage is a good character actor I think that he could play almost anything. Intersting to see if he could pull off Johnny Blaze or not. Who is signed on for director anybody know?? I was hoping that this would be a dark film like it should be.

Haha, you're going to hate this one Creeper. It's being directed by Mark Steven Johnson. He's the same guy that directed Daredevil. LOL.

crazy clown 10-30-2003 04:38 PM

A PG-13 Doom? So the video game will be more graphic than the movie. That's a real good idea.

DarkwingMantis 11-02-2003 11:21 PM

Oh Roguesblight... tsk tsk tsk. ANY form that promotes comis. Have we forgot the old Capt America and spiderman movies, and have you EVER seen the unreleased Fantastic 4 flick... total trash and a huge smear in comics name

How dare you trash the old Captain America flicks. Reb Brown is my hero.

I'll agree with you on the Fantastic 4 crap though.

crazy clown 11-03-2003 04:52 PM

yea fantastic four was a terrible terrible movie. however, a new fantastic four movie is being made also.

VenomX 11-06-2003 09:41 AM

Talk about terrible, I spent $10 on a bootleg copy of the pilot episode for the live action Justice League show which was never aired. No action sequences, no villains from the comic, and the Flash was a little to portly (Martian Manhunter was downright fat).
All the actors were in their Thirties or forties (The Atom was balding severel). It was more or less a "Super-Hero sitcom".

Oh yeah, I really want to see the "Man-Thing" movie when it comes out.

crazy clown 11-06-2003 05:35 PM

thats kinda scary

Oh No, I haven't forgotten. I still love em! I haven't seen the FF movie that they didn't release, and I understand it was suppose to be bad...but...I would still love it. I'ma loyal thru thick and thin. And I even loved the, what was it? mid 80's, Captain America, with, oh hell what was his name? Matt S something? I thought he was gorgeous at the time. I also have all the tv Spider-man series, tv Hulk series, tv Flash series, and most of the superhero cartoons also on tape. Least I forget the Generation X tv movie!

Where can a comic fan like myself see that unreleased FF movie????

Okay Matt Salinger was a pussy compared to Reb Brown. Reb's Captain America was WAY cooler.

Reb makes the best so-bad-they're-good movies.

Ya know I was thinking Salinger! Thanks for confirming it! But ya see, as a younger girl, I was in love with Matt's Captain. And absolutely gorgeous he was, I think he was over weight the last time i saw him. And back to my favorite reason for likes and dislikes in a movie, quality of film (granted that Reb's was much older) and making it look like it is real. I'm the same with comics. The more real the characters look the more I love the artwork. With movies, I'm big on looking real! That doesn't mean I don't like the older movies, that just means I am very glad effects and quality of filming have improved.

you know, in all honestly i didnt MIND dardevil. I liked it more than spiderman. I didnt even mind afflec. It was more like the comic. It was dark, frustrated, it had grit. But it for sure had its wackness. Seesaw fight, kingpin, electra, bullseye. It definatly had its fair share of bullshit.

VenomX 11-25-2003 12:12 PM

I liked Daredevil too. I liked Colin Farrell as Bullseye even though he was different than the comics, which I usually hate.

hypes057 11-25-2003 12:25 PM

rembmer, movies get PG-13 ratings so youngins can see it w/ no problem. sucks for us growups w/ the proper i.d. but, hey, hollywood has its target audience

I got this DVD at the Baltimore Comicon 2003. I had fun there becasue I met George Perez and got him to sign my copy of JLA/Avengers #1. I also got a picture taken with him, but my stupid friend hasn't developed the roll yet.

Yes, my avatar is cool. I love Spider-Man. It took me two hours of websurfing to find a picture I liked that fit

crazy clown 11-25-2003 04:39 PM

i was disappointed in daredevil because it was boring. not enough super hero action for me. to me the best comic book movie is x-2.

Avenger, youre killing me, Daredevil is a great comic, but that film was excrement, I was really hoping for another Batman type dark film. DRAG Youre right the Creeper is gooing to hate this one.

HappyCamper 12-24-2003 10:25 AM

yeah Arnie was awful in the Batman movie...you know who i think should have played Mr. Freeze? I think Christopher Lloyd would have done an excellent job or Patrick Stewart (he's bald already!)

well x men 1 and 2 are the best comic book movies released

HappyCamper 01-02-2004 01:37 PM

did anybody see 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' when it came out. I wanted to see it, but never had the chance, wondering if it's even worth renting?

ErikLensherr82 01-05-2004 04:13 PM

Oh man I hope they get this one right. Ghost Rider needs to be a film rated R with some hardcore violence and some horror. I can tsee Nic Cage doing good as GR either. :(

Charlie 01-06-2004 01:13 AM

DareDevil was the best Comic movie, yes it had cheese but thats what comics (and hotdogs) are all about, the cheese.

I think the Ghostrider movie will be good even with Nicholas Cage, if you can make "Poita"/Eric Bana a good Bruce Banner (even though some parts of the movie suck like the casting of betty) and Hugh Jackman seem tough as Wolverine, then I think they can probably make Nick a good Ghostrider

MichaelMyers 01-06-2004 04:40 AM

Looking forward to the "Werewolf by Night" picture, I saw a promo poster for it the other day. Looks great.

I don't think I've ever disaggreed more with anyone on this board. Jennifer Connelly is a great actress and they were lucky to have her in that movie. As for Bana, he rules in everything else he does, but he shouldn't have been in The Hulk. And Jackman is Wolverine, or as close to it as they could cast. Nick Cage will not do Johnny Blaze justice.

And Daredevil sucked. Just my opinions though.
