Is "I'm on a boat, motherfucker" the New "I'm Rick James, Bitch"?

urgeok2 03-10-2009 04:41 AM

I'm in Ireland - we still're saying 'Bleedin' Rapid' here at the moment.

newb 03-10-2009 07:13 AM

I'm kinda stuck in the 70s.

If you don't like that...you can sit on it.

I hear it quite a bit, the "on a boat" thing is used a lot too but honestly, I thought Lazy Sunday and Dick In a Box were both much funnier.

personally i i've always hated catch-phrases - even as a kid.

hey look at me i'm cool ! ... because i say what the cool people are saying..

but dont say it past it's due date - or you're not cool anymore. gotta say the new thing !

why doesnt everone just say :

baaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaa

The_Return 03-10-2009 08:14 AM

Well, I can honestly say that I didn't know what you were talking about until I Googled it...so, I guess it hasn't hit my area yet.

bloody_ribcut 03-10-2009 09:00 AM

no, i havent heard anyone say that..but i think its because i dont hang out with anybody.

GorePhobia 03-10-2009 09:40 AM

I know about it and I enjoy the song but no one around here says it.

Posher778 03-10-2009 10:27 AM

My friend on Enemy Territory has turned the boat thing into a lifestyle. He claims to 'live on a boat'. It's annoying as hell.

UngodlyWarlock 03-10-2009 11:06 AM

I've never even heard of this until I googled it....so we aren't at "Rick James, bitch" level QUITE yet (God, everyone was saying that in it's prime).

Sometimes catch phrases just remind you of something funny, I mean, I'll take a good "that's what she said" any day.

The trend hasn't hit here yet... or maybe I just haven't noticed.

thats a little different - you're more 'quoting' for comic effect - not effecting manufactured hipness
