Boyle's got The World
Backing her. Susan Boyle, a 47 going on 70 year old who lives alone with her cat, has become a global internet sensation since her appearance on the first episode of this year's Britains got Talent. If you haven't seen her act, I won't spoil it, but I do advise you to watch it. Probably my favourite clip from any of the Britain's Got Talent shows.
Her act has got over 11 million views on youtube and has been played in countries everywhere. Take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY Can't find any video where embedding hasn't been disabled. |
She's definately got talent.
Isn't that the same show that had that chubby guy who sang opera beautifully? |
Yeh, that was in the first series. He was good, but I think I prefer her. Paul Potts his name was.
|
She's been all over the TV here in the States. Beautiful voice!
|
she's good but Paul Pott's version on Time To Say Goodbye was amazing to me.
|
She has a beautiful voice.

Well, it's official. SHE DIDN'T WIN!
She came second. Hardly surprising. Incredible talent and a funny lady but grossly misunderstood. Many people say she just frowns all the time, but to me it looks more like she has eyesight troubles and is just trying to see properly. And the tabloids are really trying to tear her down. Maybe it's just because they didn't want her to win otherwise it would be too predicatable. But not only that, the act that did win were very good. They combined very accurate dancing with humour. |
I'm really suprised at anyones interest in this lowest common demoninaton shite...
|
glad i dont watch t.v. to much
|
I'm so glad she lost. Her voice was average at best (I personally know DOZENS of people with superior voices) her pitch is all over the place and her taste is in the gutter.
I'm sick to death of this overnight internet sensation shit. |
is it 'cos you've made more effort to get noticed less?
I thought she was "good"...but I'll leave it at that...it was probably mainly suprise value, like wow, someone that can look like that can make a sound that you might want to listen to vs the face you don't really want to look at. I don't think she won because the genre of music she sings is largely dead, and very much so among the majority of people that seem to watch/attend these shows. They liked her because she was the underdog and didn't fuck up, they stopped when she showed lack of originality and wore thin. All the same I'm sure she'll get some record deal, and after training will more than likely be very good, after all, she hadn't any at this stage. |

She needs to go back to her village and rock the Karaoke like all other failed singers. |
Hey, you're no spring chicken y'self man...so in saying that are you like, telling us you won't be moving past straight-to-dvd anytime soon?
Obviously the masses don't seem to think she needs to get any better. You'll see, she'll meet more'n the success she needs. I get why you might not find her aesthetically pleasing, I don't think anyone would...but I can't really see why you don't think she's at least good ...but hey...maybe you're like Opera (or whatever the fuck it was) coniesseur guy? I don't know this kind've stuff. |
What the show does is pretty appalling. Half the people they get on are obviously mentally unstable and they exploit them, but I still think it's interesting what some of the acts do, like the winners; Diversity.
What I hate the most is the set ups they have, like the scripted arguments or 90% of finalists being stage school kids or people who have already made albums or been on television. |
