News Items Wanted!
 

Most of you here are familiar with my annual month-long Halloween Radio Extravaganza, and if you're not, you will be come October!

I was trying to come up with something new for this year's extravaganza, and I came up with the idea of "news items."

My live broadcast marathon will be three days long this year, and as part of my talk breaks, I'd like to have "news coverage" of horror events to read. What I'm talking about is events from popular horror fiction and movies, presented as news. Things like:

"Last night passers by at the Museum of Antiquities reported they saw a man completely wrapped in bandages carrying an unconscious young woman. Investigators are trying to locate the couple."

That one's pretty lame, but you get the idea. I'm looking for short, concise news items based on the recognizable classics. The works of Poe, Lovecraft, King... movies like Frankenstein, Wolfman, Dracula, Nightmare on Elm street, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, etc.

I don't care if you think you're a writer or not- give it a try! There's no payment for your effort, but I will make a page on my website for all the contributors, with a link to a website, if you so wish. I'm not looking for recordings- just the script- between one to six lines long.

i would love to tune into your Halloween radio NE like i did last year. 'cause it was just amazing! but i only have internet at the library now since i moved to my own place, and cant really stay all day and night like i would want. :(

but if i come up with anything i'll still be happy to send it in.

Sat down and wrote a small piece, which I am sending to you right now. Hope you like it. Will brainstorm for more.

Great idea, btw. It should get more people involved and interested this year.

A suggestion - how about making similar themes for the NEW Radio Spook-a-thon every year? It could be anything related to horror - classic/vintage, scream queens, an ode to Christopher Lee, etc.

sadly no, just one of those government phones and im even usign my moms right now till i get my own. which remides me i have to order my own. *opens new tab and heads to site. i can text and talk, i do have web but it's not that great. even to send a text or read one it takes away $1.00 which is rediculous. i'm probably going to look into deals for real phones with unlimited usage all around. probably wont happen before halloween but it will be alright. i've got The Ren fair to look forward to Oct. 1st.

Oh, need some time, man. Works at the office, then to put some time for HDC Challenge and meanwhile managing time for watching some movies. You can guess how busy I'm lately.:p Moreover, lately also started updating my list of all time great horror films at imdb...and thinking make it to not only consisting of 100 or 200 films, how about a list of 666 horror movies?! :D

Don't look at it that way. It's just a fun thing. I'm not asking for a professionally written novel... just little news items based on horror films or stories. Here's one that somebody just sent me today:
AMBER ALERT ISSUED: 5 Teenagers, ages 16-19. Last seen in Camp Crystal Lake area the afternoon of Thursday the 12th. Anyone with information should contact Edmund Bacon immediately.

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.

I would but lately it's been so hard for me to do anything creative which is one reason i'm having such a hard time with HDC Idol. I can't even work on my book. I'm always so mentally and physically exhausted.

Dunno if its been mentioned, but you could do somat on the Halloween franchise, somat about 'an escaped convict has been seen walking around the past few nights, he can be recognised by a distinctive white mask - civilians are warned not to approach him, as he is wanted in connection with a string of murders'
