Are you a fan of horror comics?
Hey all... now that my schedule is slowing down a bit I though I'd stop in an pimp somethin' real quick... :D
If you're a fan of horror comics, I'd be honored if you'd check out www.nightmareworld.com and let me know what you all think... We post eight-page horror(-esque) stories of various genres every mointh at the rate of two pages a week every Thursday. We have everything from Lovecraft to Marilyn Manson to samurai's versus ninja's to a slasher-pic parody to giant radioactive monsters dukin' it out to... well, you name it. :p We're in the middle of our 15th eight-page story (we post two pages a week every Thursday), and, well, we'd all be flattered if you came and checked it out, told your peeps about it, and let us know what you thought. :D Besides... it's all FREE! :p www.nightmareworld.com Thanks everybody! Best wishes, Aaron |
Woo - Hoo nothing better than free comics.
|
True dat!

That's what I'm sayin'... and new stuff goes up every Thursday! Make sure to post and lemme know what you think after you've read some of them! :D I love hearing people's comments on the stories... whether they be good or critical! ;) Best wishes, Aaron |
I read the Welcome To The Jungle title not bad. I'll read more of them when I get the chance.
And just curious but why didn't you put this in the comics forum? It's only like right above this one. |
D'OH!
Quote:
Because I'm a f**king idiot... :p Next time... next time... ;) Best wishes, Aaron P.S.-- I'm glad you liked JUNGLE. Josh Ross, the artist on that one, is *THE MAN*, and we ghave several more stories coming down the pike... :D |
Yeah I have to agree the art in the Jungle was pretty good. I just read For Those About To Rock, that was pretty good and pretty funny also, ironic in the end to.
Keep up the good work. |
Cool beans!
Cool, man! Thanks for the kind words! :)
Most of the NIGHTMARE WORLD stories have surprise twist endings like that... What can I say... it all harkens back to old EC Comics and "The Twilight Zone", baby! Best wishes, Aaron |
I just read Knee Deep In The Dead, LOL love the parody feel to it, that was pretty cool.
You ever published any of your stuff in print? If not you should. |
Funny that you ask...
Quote:
Actually, KNEE DEEP IN THE DEAD will be seeing print in the upcoming Steven Niles: TALES FROM THE INNER SANCTUM horror anthology that will be released in a few months! How's *THAT* for service? :D That very same anthology will also feature two other stories -- a five-page prose sequel to YOU OUGHTA KNOW (one of my personal favorite stories) as well as a one-page story illustrated by Josh Ross titled WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. All of that aside, we're continuing to update the site with two new pages of story every Thursday, and hope to publish a collected "Best of..."-type TPB in the future... In the meantime, enjoy the stories while they are still free and tell all your friends (and fiends) aboiut the site! :p ( www.nightmareworld.com ) Again, man... thanks for the kind words! *VERY* appreciated! :) Best wishes, Aaron |
Sweet dude I'll have to get the Tales anthology. I love shit like that.
I would also like to get the best of to, that would be awesome. |
Wow!
Read 'em all . . . .
Man, that is really *fantastic* stuff! Keep up the great work! I would love to see what you guys could do with an adaptation of one of my stories. Seriously -- damn fine work. Keep it up! James Newman http://members.tripod.com/~NEWMANATOR/index.html |
Hi!

Thanks for all of the kind words, everyone... as well as for moving this thread to the proper forum! :o
NIGHTMARE WORLD is still going strong and will be for the foreseeable future... so fear not! We're taking this week off just to relax (the first time in two years! ) but we're starting our next story next THursday on January 6th! That's plenty of time for all ya'll to get caught-up if you haven't read the stories... or at least been to the site recently. ;) Oh... we also *FINALLY* got around to sort of doing a "Best Of..." anthology collecting three stories from the site as well as a new eight-pager written by me and illustrated by Josh Ross -- you can find out about it (and order a copy of your own) from the front page of the site! :D Again, thanks for the kind words everyone! If you dig the work everyone is putting into the site feel free to spread the word to your friends! Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
I just finished reading the first two and they were great. The artwork is terrific and the stories are full of suspense. I look forward to reading the rest.
|
It's a small world after all!
Quote:
The first two as in "Momma's Boy" and "You Oughta Know" or the first two listed at the top of the site? ("Sleep Now in the Fire" and "The Same Deep Water As You") Eiether way, thanks for the nice comments! :) By the way -- I live in Toledo as well! WHOA! What are the chances of that? :p Drop me an e-mail some time -- we'll have to talk. ;) Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod P.S. -- By the way, our next story starts TOMORROW, Thursday January 6, 2005. It's the first part of another brand-new story -- one that's gonna feature A LOT of HUGE monsters... you have been warned... :D |
Wow, a fellow Toledoen!

I just read the next 3 - Run Like Hell, How Do you Sleep?, and Bitter Wine. I must say, I didn't care for those as much as the first 2. The art in all of them are great though and the stories have a Creepshow kind of feel to them (IMO), which I really like. I will continue until I have read them all.

Different strokes...

As a result you'll see everything from zombies to Cthulhu to video games to Sherlock Holmes to faries to Merrows to Elvira covered in one way or another... with even more fun stuff to come down the road! :p Heck, we have a CAVEMAN story running in March! Sorry -- I just get excited and babble too much. I'll shut-up now. ;) Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod P.S.-- If you pay close attention, come, say, tomorrow, you may see a certain character or two from "You Oughta Know" making return appearances since I love that particular story so much. lol In fact, I even did a prose sequal to it in the STEVE NILES PRESENTS: TALES FROM THE INNER SANCTUM #1 anthology!!! (Yes, THAT Steve Niles -- the 30 DAYS OF NIGHT guy. You can get the details about the book on the NIGHTMARE WORLD website by clicking the "Store" link at the top of the page. ) |
I just finished Knee Deep in the Dead, one of my favorites so far.

I've got no probs with it at all but I think maybe its the mention of 'free comics' thats let him off a bit. Very interestin. Brilliant site though. Keep up the good work. Ash |
