what is the best scary tool ....?

Hi....

most of horror films use strange shapes to scary .....
some of them use masks or dolls and the other use Mutants..?
what is the best ?
dolls such as child’s play and saw ...
or masks such as scream and hallowen.... ?
or Mutants such as wrong turn?

bamahorrorfan87 07-09-2012 08:23 PM

to me the mask you never know who is behind them

Fearonsarms 07-10-2012 12:22 PM

I liked the penis in scary movie 2!

Bob Gray 07-10-2012 07:25 PM

I'm a bigger fan of horror films that don't use the jump in your face kind of horror, I like it to be atmospheric, unnerving, and creepy. It is better when it is something that is going to stick with you for awhile.

That makes me laugh lol. I think it's something like The Ring, or the grudge you can't do shit about it, that's pretty damn scary.

Kinda agree with Медвежуть; but I'm a fan of Jason's mask (which gave him somewhat an innocent look) & machete.

Lol! I think there's also a 70's Giallo (most probably The Sister of Ursula) where the killer use a dildo! :D

thank you all
for your posts....
for me
i do not look at the tool
i look about the creative in it ..
for example
in scream .... the mask is a very creative ...
and chucky doll such as it...

OMG I saw Sister Of Ursula and completely forgot about it-I was watching a lot of 70s Giallos at the time and it just kind of blended in with the crowd. I'll have to watch it again now :)

.....................anyway.

an iron maiden and all those other old school torture machines, apart from the pendulum, coz i dont think that actually worked

Posher778 08-20-2012 07:39 PM

I think the best scary tool is people talking about religion on the internet.

I enjoy the idea of a seemingly normal person being the one who is just so... evil, sadistic, disturbed, that they would actually perform such horrid actions. I do enjoy them with masks as well. I feel as though a mask can add to the previously mentioned but also work on its own. If done correctly, they can work together to create a powerful scare.

I also find dolls to be rather terrifying; clowns as well. Another "tool" that I find to be rather remarkable is the generally "fucked up". A mass of scars, blood, injuries, etc; someone who looks as though they just got done being tortured. Whether they are the undead, a ghost of their appearance just before death, or a still-living being, I feel as though it's effective.

It's rather entertaining to read about, I must admit. I, myself, have been thought of to do that at some points in my life. >.>

What's even more fun, though, is to write about characters like this. Grasping their personalities and creating a semi-fictional world becomes more entertaining as you move forward with it. Alas... damned laziness and writer's block. Lol.

I just watched Beneath the Darkness, it falls in line with the idea of a supposedly normal person who in the privacy of their own home does horrible or disturbing things.

Dolls, mannequins, ventriloquist dummies, clowns, they also creep me out.

wizard of gore 08-20-2012 10:41 PM

are masks and unpredictable people really tools?it seem its turning from scary tools to scary anything.
