Most Watched Horror Film
What horror movie would you say you've watched the most times?
That includes any time you sat and watched, and if you're like me, times you put the movie on for background sounds while doing the dishes or painting the dogs nails or whatever. I'm talking about the movie you put in the VCR or DVD player more than any other. For me it's the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've watched that so many times it's just plain silly. From grainy, dubbed VHS copies in the eighties to my several current DVD versions, I've seen that movie more times than I could even count. I also have a major fondness for Tarantula, Giant Gila Monster, The Wolfman (1941) and Phantasm. I would have to say those four titles, along with TCM make up my all time most watched top five. How about you, fellow forum members? Which flicks have you watched the most? |

Ironically mine would be 2010's Wolfman remake. I know I should hate it but. I JUST CAN'T. If need be I'll make a freaking topic for it someday but it's one of my happy films. I play it a lot when drawing cause the transformations and gore is just so damn inspiring. Not to mention I've seen it so many times at this point I can practically quote every line word for word. A few others would be The Howling (I & IV) and Jurassic Park. Haven't watched these much in a while though cause with Netflix I try to catch up on things I need to watch before they're taken off first. |
How dare you " Blah " Giant Gila Monster and Tarantula!! ::stick out tongue::
I haven't seen the new Wolfman. I 'm meaning to but i haven't yet. To be honest it had dropped off my radar but Ive noticed you mentioning it here a few(hundred) times and it's back on my must see list. if I don't like it, I will blame you! I also love the Howling. The first one is in the conversation for my all time favorite Lycan flick. |
Lol, nothing personal. I have my priorities though. ::big grin::
Only a few hundred? I need to up my game! Throw in a few WolfCop too for good measure. ::smile:: It's worth at least a watch. It's not perfect, but can't help but love Benicio Del Toro's take on Lawrence Talbot. As much as I love Lon Chaney Jr he was certainly given competition. Now blame away! Where is this conversation for most liked lycan flick that you speak of? |

You know, I rarely watch movies over and over. I do sometimes have tv shows I've watched a lot playing in the background. The most I can think of is seeing things twice. Like Unnameable, From Beyond, Re-Animater, Subspecies(is that the one with the vampires underwater in a cave and has the blood stone in it? Such a good film), Pumpkinhead, Hell Raisers except the really bad one. Things like that. 80's stuff.

I never really thought about it. I think taking into account all the times Halloween comes on during Halloween, that's up there. Also Friday the 13th Part 6 and Night of the Living Dead 1990. Perhaps Alien as well.

Halloween.
|
The Shining or Evil Dead

I don't rewatch films much, but I've come back to these horrors:
Alien The Thing Se7en |
Night of the Living Dead 1968
|
I forgot to add The Thing. And not the remake / prequel.
|
The Evil Dead (1981)
Psycho (1960) Friday the 13th Part 1 & 2 Scream (1996) I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) The Hills Have Eyes (2006) |
^ A lot of good ones right there! And recent posts reminded me of another that I watch a lot that somehow slipped my mind. Halloween: Resurrection
I don't know how Halloween fans feel about this one, but it was the movie that got me hooked on the Halloween films, which got me hooked on slashers, which got me hooked on horror in general so yeah. It's special. And senseless killings are always fun. It's just a fun watch. Quote:

Great titles on this thread! I should add The Thing (1951) and Night of the Living Dead to my list too. I've seen them a ton. Bucket of Blood and Blood Feast are two more that just popped into my head.

Return Of The Living Dead

All the horror movies I have on DVD ::stick out tongue::

For some reason Hammer just posting reminds me I have over 300 horror flicks in these large collection sets. There's a few in there I watch a ton. 'House on Haunted Hill' (there is only the original) is certainly one. And making it's way onto the list I've grown fond of 'The Screaming Skull'.

My most watched horrors are plenty but just off the top of my head :
Jaws. Hmmm about 30 times i think but not really sure. Phantasm Dawn of the Dead (original of course) My Bloody Valentine (original) The usual staple of the classic Universal monsters,Franky,Drac,Wolfie etc |
Oh hell yeah, how could I forget Jaws?! I have seen that dozens and dozens of times. In fact, just seeing your post makes me want to give it one last look before the summers gone. To the movie shelf I go!!
|
I had a unhealthy House of 1000 Corpses obsession for a long time. I wore out two discs. Now I only watch it a few times a year. But yeah, it was bad.
|
And of course Repo! I watched it about a thousand times that first month it released and I still listen to the soundtrack in the car all the time.
|
AHHHH and the Toxic Avenger. Probably a million times.
|
Jaws
watch it every summer |

There was much more plot in the second one, but I mean for serious, sometimes you just need to see people die in grotesque ways. |
