Is the world ready for an inverted Rape-Revenge Film?
No, I'm not aware of one coming out, but this is something I've been thinking about for a while.
We're at a point in history when the cries of "Men can be raped/women can be rapists!" are finally starting to make some headway. So, I'm wondering: have we reached a point where we, as a society, could produce a rape/revenge film in the vein of I Spit On Your Grave, with a man avenging himself on female attackers? Or would the imagery be too much for current viewers? Also, could the film be done without reinforcing the Madonna/Whore dichotomy? |

I'm not sure we live in the same world you and I. But sure, let's see such a movie. |

Can you be more specific about the plot you are thinking about? A horde of women gang up and take sexual advantage of a young weak male, who then sets out to massacre them? This seems highly implausible for several reasons.... |

Or are you seeking to exorcise some personal demons? Quote:

Have you seen the movie Super? It lays the foundation in a scene for something of this nature...

I just watched a video from the Hodgetwins the other day, about a man who was raped by 3(?) or so women. This happened in Africa I believe, & they held him at gunpoint. I wondered how he felt, or if he thought about revenge you know. Most people make jokes about it, like oh the poor guy. I bet he loved every minute of it. That's just silly. I would be interested in seeing such a film but who's to say if & when that will ever happen.

I thought Michael had more against being treated poorly or just being ignored. However, both had the killing for people having sex at the wrong time or young age thing going. Quote:
Rape to me growing up was always something bad though. Like the scene in Friday the 13th Part 8 in that alley. Today you can stumble upon some bad stuff not even looking for it that I consider rape. But it's not because it's consensual. But I consider it consensual rape though. And it's what politicians fail to talk about even though "rape cultures" are talked about on TV. To the movie however it's probably not the best idea considering that women are the ones beat down far more than men. Even if the woman did something bad, it just doesn't look good for a man to exact physical revenge. |
Not a terrible idea, an easy cop out approach would probably be with teenagers. With the popular girls denying the underdog nerdy male of his affections, probably humiliating him at some point and ruining his life to cause violent acts of revenge.
