You forgot found footage. :)

Hmmm... I would love to see the return of the good ol slasher. But I don't think Im going to get that. I would be willing to bet we see some more Zombies, and hopefully maybe some ghosts.

More social media horror. "Unfollowed," "Unfiltered," etc.

For big film companies maybe combining super heroes and horror movies will keep those alive in the majority of people. So that might happen. At least in US.

i can feel the oncoming of some end of the world/apocolypse movies.

SPAWN!!!!! Damnit, there needs to be a really good Spawn movie!

I believe we will see all kinds of horror genres, but shot in POV, for virtual reality. This will be the next trend.

Bloof 09-29-2016 05:42 PM

Possibly voodoo, Haitian black magic.

JeremyRay 10-30-2016 10:11 AM

The next horror trend will continue to be real life.

I used to love Spawn, when McFarlane was drawing it by himself, but it'd be tough to pull a good movie out of it. Unless it was a Sam and Twitch prequel. The other characters are awful.

It'd be a lot easier to make a good movie out of The Pitt. Or Savage Dragon. Even better, Tim Burton should tackle The MAXX.
