Psycho

Well, I personally thought this movie was good, but grossly overrated. Anthony Perkins was the best part of the movie, Norman Bates is the best.

KRUGERKID13 07-01-2004 06:36 PM

i used to think it was over rated but once again the sound efx in the shower scene changed my mind it honestly mad me feel chills i recomend going back and just listening to it

Vampenguin 07-01-2004 06:40 PM

Ya, the sound and music were good. When the Detective was waliking up the stairs in Bates house, then got attacked by "Mother".....that was great. Nice, calm relaxing music.....the BAM a screech of high pitched terror music......Awesome.

KRUGERKID13 07-01-2004 06:43 PM

ok sorry i didnt specify dont listen to the music as much as the knifes contact to the skin

Vampenguin 07-01-2004 06:50 PM

Really? I guess I didnt notice that, stabbing just sounds like stabbing to me.

KRUGERKID13 07-01-2004 07:30 PM

Bernard Herrmann's score is brilliant.

KRUGERKID13 07-01-2004 11:22 PM

yeah the score was amazing and definetly makes some of the films most memorable scenes

thepsychicfetus 07-14-2004 12:25 PM

I love Alfred Hitchcock and almost all of his movies. Psycho is one of the best examples. Ive always loved hitchcocks use of camera angles and things of that nature. The shower scene is excellent. Oh, and by the way, if you havent seen psycho, see the original, and not the new version with Vince Vaughn. It sucked balls hardcore. I was very disappointed. Whatever, original is all that matters.

orangestar 07-14-2004 06:29 PM

The sounds and direction of Psycho are great, but I still think it is way overrated. I enjoyed it, but its not top 20 material or anything.

KRUGERKID13 07-15-2004 11:03 PM

ive said it once and ill say it again i dont think its overrated i just think it gets liked or the wrong reasons

Hate_Breeder 07-16-2004 11:09 PM

How could you not like Psycho?

KRUGERKID13 07-17-2004 08:35 PM

i dont think anyone doesnt like psycho and if they say they do there lying

thecritic 07-17-2004 10:54 PM

I loved Psycho, and it is my favorite Hitchcock film ever. Anthony Perkins gave an amazing performance. I thought that the remake sucked so bad. Vince Vaughn wasn't at all convincing as a "psycho." Are you aware of the three sequels that were made after the original. All of which star Anthony Perkins. The second one is pretty decent but the one thing that I thought made the films so good was the fact that it didn't need sex to make it good. The third psycho has this random sex scene that has no purpose in the movie. In my opinion, sex scenes are only required if something comes from them. Like the character has a baby or something. However, if you like Psycho, I recommend the sequels, baring in mind, that they can't hold a candle to the original.

If you guys think it is overrated you are not looking at the quality of film making here.........Hitchcock was brilliant.........is is an old movie though so you have to take that into consideration.........a classic!

KRUGERKID13 07-29-2004 03:56 PM

The kill on the stairs is probably one of my favorite scenes in any movie, that ceiling camera angle was brilliant.

Hitch cock is the all time master

Nobody could manipulate the audience like Hitchcock could, there hasn't been a director past or present with his creativity and unique style. When you watch a Hitchcock movie you always have to expect the unexpected, which probably will shock you anyway :).

Not I. I've heard though that Norman was quite different, fat and lazy being the biggest difference. Sometimes a book can put a whole different perspective on things, sort of like when I read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest not knowing at first it was from the Chief's perspective :).
