Zatoichi - has anyone seen this yet ?
 

Hey - I finally saw the colour remake of Zatoichi ..
I know it isnt horror - but there's gore galore in it so it kinds fits here.

I have one of the origionals .. it wasnt great .. not as good as Lone Wolf and Cub movies ..

But the remake ... man do i have some mixed feelings about this one ..

I have said in the past that i like CGI ... to show things otherwise impossible ..
I couldn't believe the CGI blood, etc, in this one though.. it ruined the film. It just seemed ... lazy ..

That and the Japanese 'Lord of the Dance' routine in the end .. WTF was that all about ???

I know that the film took time to showcase some of the artful aspects of the Japanese culture but .. man

On the plus side, the gentlemen in the lead role was remarkable ..
All the players were competent but this guy was fantastic.
I liked the film and i didn't like the film .. I'm completely divided ..

Any opinions out there ?

"beat" takeshi kitano is the man....

can't wait for the sequel

I'll see this one for Takeshi, but there's only one Zatoichi movie I'm really interested in...

was ok.....preferred zatoichi and the one armed swordsman

I had mixed feelings on this one as well. the cgi was garbage but there was some good comedy in the film & the fight scenes were good too. Has any one seen OLD BOY yet? Its fooking brilliant.

"Beat's" Zatoichi is really good fun ... the CGI blood is a little silly, but the movie is so good it's not to much of a problem!

I like "Zatoichi's Pilgrimage" best of the earlier movies that I have seen!:cool:

Own it...though I must say I only watched it because of Tadanobu Asano...oh Tadanobu Asano...I love you...Too much CGI though, true. I haven't seen any of the older Zatoichi movies though. Any good?

not great .. kind of slow.

check out Lone Wolf and Cub .. there are 6 of them and they are quite the series.
