The Doors/Jim Morrison Thread

The Doors > All

The combination of Manzarek's keyboards (playing a bass keyboard with one hand), Krieger's guitar playing and songwriting, Densmore's jazz like drumming, and Jim's vocals and charisma.

Probably one of my favorite bands

It makes me depressed that a slipknot thread has like 25 replies but a Doors thread has 1

its not exactly a musically diverse crowd.

and i dont mean the one or two that will chime in to differ ..
I think in general ... everyone here is a little more 'badass'

The Doors? Jim Morrison? Hes a drunken baffoon pretending to be a poet. Give me the guess who theyve got the courage to be drunken baffons which makes them poetic. (Almost Famous)

Im just kidding i love the doors one of the greatest poetic rock bands of all time.

Yeah, I'm a fan.

I remember once when I was tripping really hard, I just wanted to go to sleep, so I put "The Doors Live" on my stereo. It sounded alive, yet extremely empty at the same time. Looking back, it was probably just the lack of bass guitar, but at the time it only served to keep me awake until 8 in the morning.

The fine print:
I should also add that I in no way endorse the use of LSD, or any other illegal drugs.

Denis Leary : "They dont need to make a movie about the Doors. I can sum it up for you in a couple of seconds. Im drunk Im poor,
Im drunk Im Famous, Im drunk Im fuckin dead."

nah, I aint got nothing against the doors, I just think that that quote is hilarious.

It is sad that people populate a Slipknot thread more than a Doors thread. Very sad. Especially considering Slipknot don't have any talent.

The Doors are by far my favorite band of all time. Jim Morrison is like my idol and I consider him to be one of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century, definately one of the best poets if not the best. But i don't just love Morrison, because that wouldn't be right. Manzarek is undoubtedly the most underrated musician of all time and in my opinion the best keyboardist/organist of ALL time in a rock band. Never has there been more catchier and hooky lines from a keyboard/organ. But don't forget about Robby Krieger, a vastly underrated guitar player. He came up with some unforgettable and awesome riffs (Peace Frog anyone?), and to even it all out you've got John Densmore, probably the best precision drummer of his time.

The Doors are pure genuis man go and buy every one of their albums and you'll thank me.
