Because that is the world of people for ya. They find it fun to hurt others. Believe me, my families the same. Don't let it get to you. Start dishing it back to them in the same way. I do and I don't have any more problems. I personally have a very short fuse and won't take anything off anyone anymore.

Personally, I don't think dishing it back in the same way is the best advice. If Her Dad and Brother are already mean to Her and give Her a hard time and She retaliates in the Way You suggest She could have more problems.:(

try not talking for a while. happened to me once, turned out whenever i opened my mouth, some stupid shit came out.

I know I'm a mean asshole to you sometimes...but whatever, bitch...I aint serious. You know it.;)
I think you come across as a little ditsy, and insecure...naive, if you will. But you're young...so, whatever, people don't often give the best impressions for their future selves whilst in high school. Just my take on things, people will zoom in on your weaknesses, no matter how inconsequential they actually are, and attempt to get into you about it, hurt your feelings...etc.
Whether or not you give a fuck enough about their personal opinion of you is entirely your choice...their only power/pleasure will derive from your reactions so ignore them...but every time they happen to give you shit, let it go, even laugh it up with them...then a little while later, do things like pour bleach on their shoes, tack their chairs, fish guts in the bags/books, eggs in the lockers, fart gas and/or itch powder on the clothes, hot chilli peppers smeared on hats and glasses...I'm sure you can think of a few more. Don't get caught, you will need to practise the art of near-invisibility. Plan all your attacks in advance, and plan them well. Soon, it will get to a point when mysterious, fucked up things keep happening to these people...if you remain careful about it, and don't go overboard...there will not be a link to you.
Although, their subconscious may put two and two together, which should help your situation.
If this DOESN'T help your situation, at least you have the satisfaction of doing some filthy, slightly painful fucked up things to them, every time they bring you down.
If you want to be a little more confrontational about it, do this - start crying, then they wont expect it when you shove some corn holders into their hands and arms. Corn holders never killed anybody, but if theyre getting superficial but painful stab wounds every time they fuck with you, it SHOULD stop.

I'm not the best person at giving advice, but usually my plans of this nature DO work.

Hmmm.

Are vindictive acts really the best advice to give ostracised or browbeaten youngsters these days?

Minda, you can also try ignoring them. They do it because they've found they can get a rise out of you and now it's fun for them to do to see how mad or upset you'll get.
