Hello all,

Since I decided I might stick around, I thought I should post something here. I came here a few days ago looking for help figuring out the name of a movie (turned out to be "Stay"), and I think if the kind people here hadn't helped me figure it out I would have gone completely crazy. Anyway, maybe it's an omen that I should "stay," since that's the name of the movie I was seeking. Ooh... irony...

So basic stuff... I'm 28, female, married, and I live just north of Atlanta. I currently work as a sales associate at Macy's, which isn't very fulfilling, but I'm hoping to go to school to become a vet tech. I spend most of my time reading, fooling around the computer (currently I spend quite a few hours playing the game Pharaoh, and when the new Neverwinter Nights comes out, hubby and I will be fighting over computer time;) ), watching tv and movies (of course), and going hiking and backpacking every chance I get.

As for horror movie history, I started watching when I was about 10, but it was very limited due to my mother. A couple of years after that I saw my first *real* horror stuff courtesy of my stepbrothers, and spend many sleepless nights absolutely terrified. But I've been hooked since then. And since the more intelligent movies have started coming out, the ones that are actually scary and not just gory, I've found I really prefer that. I haven't watched Saw or many of the similar ones, but I did see the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn, and most recently, The Hills Have Eyes. I find movies of this type to be more stressful than scary. Occasionally it's enjoyable though. I really like Japanese influenced horror like The Ring (scared the hell out of me the first time around), and I've started watching the actual Japanese films. Some of my favorite movies that actually were scary or creepy are: The Ring, Event Horizon, The Changeling, and The Exorcist. There are probably more but I can't think of them right now. :p Other than that, I read a lot of horror, and I'm interested to find out if people here read as well. Stephen King is the master, but I've found some other good authors as well. I've been making my way through all of Bentley Little's books most recently.
