Canadian pig farmer

A Canadian farmer has confessed to killing 49 women, one victim short of his target, a leading British broadsheet said Tuesday.

According to The Times, Robert "Willie" Pickton, who runs a pig farm outside the West Coast city of Vancouver, told investigators he had plotted one final murder to bring the tally to 50.

"I was going to do one more and make it an even 50," a prosecutor quoted Pickton as saying in an interview. "I made my own grave by being sloppy."

Pickton, 56, is said to have lured prostitutes and drug addicts from Vancouver's red-light district to parties on his farm. After slaying the victims, he would butcher their remains and feed them to his pigs.

The man was arrested in February 2002 after police visited his farm to search for an unlicensed shotgun only to discover identification cards belonging to some of the missing women, as well as severed body parts and skulls with bullet wounds in them.

Before his confession, Pickton pleaded not guilty to 26 counts of first-degree murder. He is now being tried on the first six counts, with the other 20 charges to be heard at a later trial.

You guys had not heard about this before? It's been on Canadian news for ages! Granted very few news from here seem to make it down south...

To be honest, i think as a country we usually forget there are other countries on this continent. If it werent for immigration stories in the news and "Mexican" restauraunts and food everywhere, we would probably forget about Mexico, too.

As a country, we have ADD.

Can't say that I am that surprised, I watch american news sometimes and a story not invloving the US has to be extremely big to get any time. But this Pickton guy seems like a real psycho!

Honestly, I am surprised it is not a much bigger deal here. if he had been american, we would not get away from the guy for years. Remember BTK? Holy SHIT was i tired of all the shows about him after 6 months.

they should mince him alive, slowly - feet first.

If he didnt, he would not have tried to cover it up. That is why serial killers and other sociopaths are not considered crazy, they are fully aware that what they are doing is wrong, they simply do not care, or are unable to care that they are harming another human.

What he probably doesnt get is why to everyone else it is a big deal. he knows it is, he just doesnt get it. In most cases i have read of serial killers hwo kill prostitutes, they consider them human trash, and target them specifically because they are easy in every way. They usually rationalize that they are cleaning up the streets, because almost every serial killer documented has an inborn hero complex.

John Wayne Gacy was obsessed with, guess who, John Wayne. As are quite a few. Many of them try to become cops at some point, or join the military, because they want the power associated with the title and job. Most, if they even make it, was out early on, because they learn it isnt about power, its about work.
