question
my brother is 12 in 1 month and he wants to watch the exorsist but will he be to violent for him
|
I think 12 is too young and not because I think The Exorcist is violent. It's more the crucifix fucking scene. I don't think I was 15 or 16 until I saw the Exorcist for the first time and that scene shocked me. The whole feel of the movie can be pretty intense.
Also, I think it also depends on what religious background you are. My boyfriend is a Baptist and The Exorcism of Emily Rose really freaked him out and he refuses to watch the Exorcist because of the whole demonic thing. My background is Catholic and I have no problem with it and the devil and demons don't scare me. If anything I understand it better because the Exorcist (and most other types of movies like this) go by "Catholic Rules" for exorcisms, demons, and the like. |
That's a question for the child's parents, not a bunch of random people on the internet.

12 would be a little intense... but then again I was only 9... scared the fuck outta me, and I've been obsessed with horror, well, scince before that, but still. If the kid scares easily, then hell no... he might cry... :D
I do agree that you should consider what the 'rents say. They'll know best... well, unless they're unrelenting christian types... the kind that shelters too much... like mine! :p |
fuck it. i saw robocop when i was 8.

I have a better question.
I thought you had left?? |

I don't see why he shouldn't watch it. It's a good movie and definitely way more effective for kids around that age. I was probably about 11 when I first saw it and it scared the shit out of me. It has pretty much lost it's effect on me, but that's probably due to the fact that I don't believe in the devil.
