What is the best Horror Movie?

Some people might think that horror movies depend on gore, shocks, sex and teenagers. Others might think that they need to be eerie, suspensfuland well-told. When somebody says Horror film what do you think of?

The pictures in my head of horror filmsare 1922's Nosferatu, 1919's The Cabinet of Dr. Cagliari, A young zombie and her victim, her father, from Night of the Living Dead, Michael Myers, unstoppable psycho-killer from the classic Halloween, Scream revitalized horror of the 1990s and 2000s, Poster art for Freddy vs. Jason, which combined two long-running franchises, they are a few things I can think of so please send in your thoughts on that issue.

There are different types of Horror film genre like Slasher films, exploitation films, thriller films, splatter films, comedy horror films and vampire films.

Black Christmas, Halloween & Freddy vs. Jason may mark The Slasher films genre.

Blood Feast, Cannibal Holocaust and Hostel: Part II may mark the splatter films genre.

Dracula, The Vampire Lovers, Nosferatu & Frostbitten may mark The Vampire films genre.

Upcoming films like 30 Days of Night, The Alphabet Killer, Asylum, Beowulf, Day of the Dead, Dead Air, The Ferryman, Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane, I Am Legend, The Last Winter, The List, The Living Hell, The Mist, P2, Resident Evil: Extinction, Saw IV, Seed, Shrooms, The Signal, Simon Says, The Strangers, The Mother of Tears, Trick 'r Treat, White Noise: The Light & Wrong Turn 2 may change your views on what you think is the best Horror movie ever?

So, what I'm saying is, what is your favourite horror movie ever?

If you haven't seen enough horror movies, watch them though don't go outside and buy any old crap like The Maize: The Movie because that really sucks ass.

Nice to make your Acquintance.
Richard.

Favorite? Hard to say. But "Phantasm" is up there near the top, for sure. It has a lot of depth, a lot of heart, a lot of energy. It beats the crap out of many more expensively-produced horror flicks.
