When children/women are represented as a threat in horror movies what makes it scary?

Why are children used in horror films like the ring? .. what is scary about children / women being used? is it because they arnt the normal ones to be in charge they are normally shown as weak? or is it because its abnormal for children or "weak" women to be superior? [/COLOR]

Read your Jung, Freud (even a broken clock is right twice a day) and Campbell, then sit down and think. Also, think about what scares you and what would happen if somebody you wouldn't even think of hurting hurt you.

Nothing at all....

Horror movies are horror movies. If the character is scary, it's scary. Doesn't matter if it's a man, woman, child or anything in between.
