Venting on the Net? Think again!

If you thought venting out your frustration on anonymous blogs about the people you know or don't know was safer than posting it on other sites where you're known - think again!

Model Liskula Cohen is an example why you should think twice before you badmouth your irritating boss or a write a lampoon about that socialite you always read about in the newspaper.

Cohen was named in a blog called 'Skanks in NYC', hosted by Google's Blogger.com, that contained lewd comments about the model. The blog also had pictures of the model with comments written below it that clearly suggested that Cohen was being a promiscuous woman.

Liskula won a court case that allows her the right to know the identity of her crude online critic.

She found this unacceptable and turned to Google to reveal the identity of the blogger. The search giant initially refused to reveal the blogger's identity, who Cohen claimed defamed her.

The IP address turned over by Google revealed that the blogger was an acquaintance of Cohen's.

So, it seems the internet isn't the best place for confessions of your deep, dark secrets after all.

Time to go to church? "Forgive me Father, for I am about to sin..."

Pot shots from behind the anonymity provided by the internet are cowardly.
