Trying to find name of a great TV horror episode
 

During the black & white TV horror era, there was this one episode on Thriller or some other horror series...

The plot -- a ramrod military soldier of fortune takes up an offer to spend overnight in a haunted house. During the night, he is horrified to find that previous visitors have been transformed to giant slugs that leave a trail of slime. The guy eventually goes nuts and is taken away to the asylum.

turns out it was a hoax, revenge on the ramrod guy because he'd caused the death of a rich guy's son and the whole "giant slug" thing was a hoax designed to drive him crazy.

Anyone know this episode? Thanks.
