Bad Start
 

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum, actually any forum for that matter. I seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot with some of the forum folks who seem to have been here for awhile. I was hoping for a warm welcome and instead have been accused of being an author trying to plug a book.

If this isn't a good forum for inviting conversation please let me know. Or, is this a normal occurrence in forums?

Please help me get a better start around here. I can leave if that's the best thing.

No idea of the comments or thread in question but I'm sure I can guess what happened.... Lots of authors come here promoting their work and offering links claiming to be a random fan, then disappear without contributing another thing to the forum. If you are here to talk horror and enjoy the forum, you will continue to post and as long as you aren't a dick will get on just fine here. If you are here to promote your work then just be straight with people and you wont cop any flack. Plenty of avid readers here who will enjoy talking horror with you if that's what you're here for, so enjoy the forum and don't take things to heart. :cool:

Don't leave! There's nothing wrong with jloining to promote your work. That's how I started here a decade ago. I'm still here!

I don't want to leave. I just want you to know I'm not an author.

Well, I do have a food blog. But, by no means is that author worthy. And even that I've let go. I have a toddler and don't have the time.

Anyhow, I will continue to post and chat.

Food is one of my favorite topics as well. ;)
