My asshole family
 

I wrote this earlier today upon finding out my grandfather had died.

I am hoping it winds up on the first page of google when peopel search on my name, because I think stumbling over it is about what my family deserves, so click it at least. Please.

If you actually read it, awesome. It's just a glimpse into what made me me, it's interesting(?)

Well I'm a little gobsmacked. I did "click" it and did read it. Look I don't even know you, and as you can tell, I'm new to this forum.

I feel for you and want to tell you that my "family" is my 2 children and the lovely 3 grandchildren they have given me. That's it and its wonderful.

I don't know how old your daughter is now or if you had more kids but that's
your family. And some day they will have more family for you. Cliche but true: The past is history, the future is a mystery and the present is a gift.

Some things you can't move on from, just away from.
I'm myself on the verge of having a kid and I've had to make the decision that still makes ME feel like the bad guy, to keep various "family" out of their lives...I won't have self centredness, greed, rampant judgement and a lack of priority beyond dollar value pissed allover my childs life...some people, are better off, not being around.
Family can hurt.

Vod, I'm so sorry. It always makes me incredibly sad when I hear stories like this about families. And, it makes me very thankful for the family I have.

Thank you everyone :) Writing it was cathartic. It was definitely one of the best decisions I ever made.

And the family I made is WAY better
