It Follows is not based on any actual urban legend but it feels like it was.
Like all urban legends, it's a creepy cautionary tale.
There's also When A Stranger Calls and Candyman (basically Bloody Mary).
I also think the Japanese movie Carved: The Slit Faced Woman is based on an urban legend.
Surprisingly I don't think there are that many films based on specific legends!
