An interesting take, are you a Dark Tower fan? Your mindset would fit in well with us. If you haven't read it yet, you should give it a try.

People stress too much about a remake being the same. If they wanted to make the same movie they wouldn't put forth the effort. Regardless of weather a movie is a remake it needs to be taken in as a whole new movie. Enjoy what it does well and allow it to capture the imaginations of a whole new era of genre fans.
