Black Mountain Side (2014)
Within a limited budget, this is a pretty decently done love letter to Carpenter's
The Thing (a better homage than
Blood Glacier, IMO)! But don't expect any shape shifting creature in it...the story follows a group of archaeologists when they uncover a mysterious stone structure buried in the snow. The structure bears some archaic engravings that the crew attempt to decipher. As they further delve into the structure's origins, things at camp turn sour. Communications go out, local workers hired to dig around the structure suddenly disappears, and the men are stricken with not only a terrible illness but also distrust and paranoia!!
