tv taking over
How can a brain take over my brain through the tv, when the tv has already taken over my brain?
That topic makes me think of the sf short story The Twonky, by Arch Oboler (Lights Out). In this story a guy who has sent for a tv gets a tv from some other planet, which does weird things.
I guess tv was new enough in the 1950s for people to be afraid of what it would do. Aren't we still?
