Metal - A Headbangers Journey

very entertaining documentary about metal - from it's beginnings - to how it branched out into several subgenres - to why so many people put it down.
It was made by a Canadian (represent!) who travelled all over the world interviewing a lot of interesting cats. If you haven't seen this - i highly recommend it - if you like metal or not (i mostly dont - with a few exceptions)

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Fincher)

it's been a while -i felt like having another look at this one and enjoyed it more than i did the first time .. now that i could just watch and not make comparisons to the european version. this is one of those rare cases where the film (both versions) are far better than the book - which i thought was poorly written. It's supposed to be a 'locked room' mystery that isn't - but tries to distract you from that with a serial killer subplot. Really good performances and Fincher's directorial style elevate this film well above the flat story.

Monster's Inc.

speaking as a parent, and a fan - this is the best kid's movie ever made as far as i'm concerned.
Very clever - genius concept - and gorgeous to look at.
