I also have a secret.
When walking, I find I get the best results by first lifting one foot off of the ground, (I prefer to start with the right), swing it forward using both knee and hip, and place the foot aproximately 18 to 24 inches ahead while simultaneously shifting my weight to it. I will then lift the other foot and move it forward in the same mannor and repeat this procedure until I have reached my destination or become tired. I find that this allows me to be quite mobile.
