I just had some dumbfuck call in with an "important" problem. I cant really give out all of the details (confidentiality and all that), but here is a good analogy:

Say you wanted to be able to browse any book in a library. You can check them out to browse them more conveniently. Now, these books shouldnt allow just anyone to read them. If you want to browse the book, you need to at least know what the fuck it is called.

This asshole's complaint? He cant browse ALL of the books from his desk until he fionds the one he wants. (the 'books' are computers, btw).

I tell him he really shouldnt be able to, in order to view the books, ideally he needs to know what it is called. He doesnt want to. And the guy Next to him can do it....:rolleyes: (fucking child, i swear..)

He expresses that he doesnt knwo why i cant see this is important, could he talk to someone else, right now. I tel him no one else here can do a thing, i will have to log a ticket to the people that actually take care of this type of crap. not good enough, he thinks ANYONE other than me will see things his way, and fix it for him magically.


There is one other guy in here, and he has only been here maybe a year. I have been here over 3 and am technically now a programmer (ie, i am not an idiot, and actually a fucking expert....), but he insists, so i put his dumb ass on hold and let hims weat for a few minutes.

I come back and tell him i had talked to one of the guys that administrate these things, and they had a suggestion (absolute bullshit, and i know it wont work, but if it gets him off the phone)

so i take over his computer. he INSISTED it was one name, but it wasnt... And while i am on his pc, i see a bunch of software that isnt licensed by the company. this is bad, because most software specifically states you cant use it on a corporate owned computer without the company buying a license for it, so basically, i cant use my own copy of Adobe Acrobat on myy work computer, because Adobe could technically sue the company for it if they found out. plus, unlicensed software is untested software, so we dont know what the fuck it will do to/in outr environment.

Once i am on his pc, there ar 4 things that shouldnt be there that i saw right off.(fucking dipshit.....)

I work my magic, though i know it will do NOTHING.

It doesnt work, fucking DUH!

"I have to log a ticket to the experts, ther eis nothing any of us inherew can do" NOW he fuckling accepts it. No fucking books if you dont know the fucking name.

So i get him off the phone and vent. My boss says, you are correct, he shouldnt be able to browse if he doesnt know the name.

Validation, yes, but no reprecussions for the dipshit i talked to. i KNOW i was fucking right. I fucking hate people.

Oh, and i had no fucking coffee this morning, so i am a tad edgy.....
