Why do you watch horror movies?
**Because I like them?
The genre appeals to me out of versatility, and that we are subjected to things we'd otherwise never experience. As with all types of movies, horror is a chance to see the creativity of another - to see their fears and imagination become hybrid in a tangible form, somebodies personal perspective put into film is always interesting, regardless of subject matter...
When did you start watching horror movies?
**I can't remember clearly when I first WITNESSED any part of a horror movie, but I do recall seeing Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm st, both at about the age of 7.
How do you feel when you watch a horror movie?
**That depends on how well it's made, how/where it's filmed, use of a good musical score, a convincing cast, a RANGE of things. A good horror movie can make you experience many emotions or feelings throughout.
The horror movies I appreciate the most are the ones that actually "scare" me a little. I'm not referring to the many attempts to make you jump that the average horror film throws your way...I'm talking about the films that bring about contemplation of a fear that you share with the maker of the film, be it pre-existing, or something you've never even considered.
Suspense is also good, but a distant second, gore isn't all that important, but good when used effectively, and moderately.
*Tense
*Disgusted
*Sympathetic (not just for the victims either)
???I dunno???
It's quite hard to put it simply.
What is your favorite horror movie?
**If I chose only one, I feel that this would discredit the many other horror films I've appreciated through the years for various reasons. This is a question I no longer answer.
