Oh, I think they were all quite lovely, all those 60's Godzilla girls.

Now starts the formless ramble. When I was growing up, you know, the older Godzilla films (pre-1970 and thereabouts) were the only ones yet made, so I grew up with those, and have a special place in my heart for all of them. They would run on TV fairly often. All the neighborhood kids loved that stuff.

Someone called me a while back and said that a bunch of Godzilla films were playing down at a local theatre. I wasn't able to see them all. But I did see two, "Monster Zero" and "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster." It was absolutely unreal. I never thought I would have the chance to see these two projected, as they are definitely old favorites.

I have a laserdisc of "Kingu Kong tai Gojira" which is un-flipping-believable, it's a Toho release and not subtitled, so I have no idea what they're all saying and have to guess, but that movie is a solid production, very lavish, and the sound is in surround stereo. When Godzilla appears and roars, it nearly blows the speakers out.
