PC Assistance
So, I got a new graphics card put into my machine last night...installed by a friend, who doesn't SEEM to have fucked up too badly.
I upgraded from a
Nvidia gforce4 MMX440
to a
Radeon 9200SE
So, it works fine, I can see blur graphics, and use games that require this "pixel shader" shit...however, some settings seem to have changed during the installation.
I don't know WHY putting in a graphics card would ever possibly effect this, but this problem wasn't there before installation, an it is NOW.
Basically, my pc will NOT open cd's/dvds anymore...as in, it won't let them autorun, OR be explored.
When I try and run a cd, THIS comes up in a little window:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft windows applications.
Choose Close to terminate the application.
THEN, I get the choice of close, or ignore...either does the same thing, the cd doesn't run/can't be opened, and that's it...Happens with both my cd and dvd drives...
If anyone is any good with this BULLSHIT and has any ideas better than mine (kicking the pc into small peices), I'd thank you kindly for your reccomendations/assistance.
