i've seen a few like that - cant think of any off the top of my head
(early Warhol films maybe)

you can appreciate the film being well crafted - but it's like real life - no-one sane wants to surround themselves with unpleasant people for any amount of time ..

I agree with you and Jenna completely. I went to the theatre to see it, and was completely shocked to find out that it WASN'T a love story ;) I don't know, maybe it was just me...but from the trailer's that I saw that's what I thought it was going to be.

Anyway, about 20 people walked out while I was there. I'm not sure if it was from some of the language or just b/c they were so bored, etc. To be honest, I didn't think there was a need for all of the swearing. I felt like most of it was just done to "shock" the audience...it didn't really have a purpose. (and I'm not a prude) ;)

I just couldn't relate to any of the charachters either. They all got what they deserved, really. Also, I didn't understand how the husband of the charachter Julia Roberts played could get so angry at her for cheating on him, when he readily admitted HE cheated while on a business trip! ;) It was like...double standard much?

Anyway, before *I* bore you to tears, I'll shut up. :D
