Well, who have you tried so far?

I like Stephen King, but not all his books are for me, or for everyone, sometimes I think hes a little too drawn out, but Carrie, The Shinning and some others are good.
I also love Richard Laymon. I'm not sure what other peoples opinion of him is, but he reminds me of a sorta 80's film, blood, gore and tits. I also like reading his books because I find 90% of the time the book is completly different to what you expect from reading the back.
Some suggested titles are "Flesh," "Funhouse," "Savage" (A take on Jack the Ripper) "Rain" "Darkness, Tell Us", "Bite" His books are a mix as well, some are slasher, some are supernatural and others with a hint of Sci-Fi.
I also liked the book by James Herbet "Rats" thats a great read IMO. Also The Exorcist (the novel) is an excellent book and again in my opinion better than the film.
