and since you're still young, and doubtless you're also smaller...weapons are ok ;) , they ensure maximum reach, and increase of attack effectiveness and damage inflicted, while keeping you a little further from reach. They provide for you what your body lacks. Just, yknow...don't go for the head.

Seriously though, your father sounds like a prick, your brother...probably not as much so to blame, probably just an idiot teenager without a better example to live up to...although some responsibility DOES lie with him too.
