Hell, sometimes they're vicious when they're raised right...

Nope...I don't buy that.
Although MAYBE it's the kind of people who are into presenting themselves under a certain "image" such a beast would further "promote"...whatever the fuck dickless morons of that general calibur that probably only buy the dog to make themselves feel/look big n bad in the first place...'cos generally they don't treat their animals any better than those around them...thus, making these dogs more prone to be viscious.
Seems like a sound enough theory to me.
I've met dogs of all kinds with "bad rep", dobermanns, ayredales (the supposed baby-eaters), american and english pittbulls, staffordshire terriers, rottweilers...not saying they're ALL nice, but I've met multiples of each, and find that if raised properly I don't think ANY of these dogs is liable to snap without some kind of shitty treatment, abuse, or prolonged torment...shitty people give these animals a bad stereotype...but ignorance only perpetuates these things.
Take rats for instance (although not 100% pertainent, a good point nonetheless)...anyone who's owned one knows different, but the horrible things that those who simply haven't met a rat, believe and say about them...it's too bad.
Then again, I HAVE been raised around german shepherds...so I've come to have an understanding of the "big" dogs.
In closing...I guess, don't judge an animal before you own one yourself, because only under your care and watchful eye will you ever see the goodness in them and the kindness that they're capable of, in many instances I've been surprised.
ps - Hope things turn out for the better for your dog, obsessed...and I strongly reccomend contacting animal services to have the dog removed, and the "owners" charged.
