So somebody kidnaps a mother and brutally kill her husband and each of her child one at a time, one day a week in front of her. Assuming there was no evidence left and nobody can ever trace the crime to the killer the killer simply leaves and the mother is left tied up in a pile of what used to be her family. A day or two later make a call from out of state to the police because the mother should be found, she has to live, otherwise it wouldn't be as cruel. She'll either commit suicide or live her entire life with the visions of her family... her baby... being gutted right in front of her.
