It's over twenty years old, it's directed by Tobe Hooper. I would say it's a classic. I saw that movie for the first time when I was four years old and I ended up becoming very frightened of the two hundred year old apple tree outside my window. It paved the way for the big budget popcorn horror movies of the next generation, which is a blessing and a curse, but still the impact of it's undeniable.
