All of the european royal families had some issue with inbreeding at some point. It took a while for them to relize that keeping the bloodlines "pure" meant having retarded kids with 6 toes, tails and no teeth. Hence why even warring nations would marry their kids, bith to end wars and to keep the royla lineage from ending up looking like michael jackson.
I believe the rampant hemophelia in the Tzar's family was a result of inbreeding.
