I dont see why they dont like it. I found it a decent watch.
Not enjoyable by any stretch of the imagination but yeah, its better than some of the other street trash Hollywood has been peddling lately.
If someone comes to me and says he loves Uwe Boll's movies or the mindless remakes, but hated Hostel, then for me that guy is seriously whacked in the head.
