lol well it depends. like anything else it depends on the person. its all perception. some kids look at beavis and butthead and laugh, some kids look and say 'wow they didnt die why dont i try burning myself'
nature vs nurture definitely fits. are we born natural good or bad? or with a combination of both? how about how we are brought up. if you look at most people who molest, kill, rape, most of them have had fucked up lives themselves. theres this one dude who killed his dad (cant remmeber the names, sorry) so he got life in jail. turns out when he was 5 his father was giving him a bath, took him down and raped him. THen again theres cybil, whos mother comPLETELY tortured her. her uterus was all scarred because her mom would poke her in there. also for no reason, she ewould put cold water inside of her bladder and make her hold it while she played some piano song (which lasted 12 minutes). now why the fuck would anyone do that? anyway, cybil never hurt anyone. so it depends on the person.
of course theres richard ramirez who grew with several brothers and sisters with a relatively normal life, and he went out and raped old ladies and took out their eyes. his brother and sisters never did anything like that though. richard is one of the biggest candidates for monsterdom, however what did he do with all the jewelry and money he stole? sent as presents to his family...
of course theres zodiac who was never caught (odds are hes dead, or inactiv hes like 70 now). anyway what was his method of killing? first of all, after he'd kil someone, he'd call the police. he'd say "a man and woman were each stabbed 12 times in the chest at blah blah street. i killed them" then would hang up. so how did he pick his victims? he'd pick a center point, i think it was a certain mountain, go out 1 mile, (radius of 1 mile, a circle) and went every 46.3degrees (i dont think its 46.3, but its some degree) and would pick every location and kill someone thre. in some cases the locatio was desolate, so he'd have a taxi driver drive ther, then kill the taxi driver. so obviously, he didnt give a fuck who he killed. but he sure liked to taunt people. oh yeh, he'd give coded letters to the newspapers saying 'print this or i will kill someone else. this message when decoded will reveal my identity' but of course it didnt.
anyway, i think its a combination of factors that cause people to do this shit, howeveri think media plays a very small part.
