Old news now...
British actor Rupert Evans has reportedly been cast as Superman in Warner Bros.' live-action Justice League of America movie. Evans, 30, is best known for his role as "John Myers" in Hellboy.
According to a scooper for DarkHorizons.com, "About three weeks ago some casting sessions took place in London's SoHo area for a movie called Justice League. ... Anyway after going through a whole bunch of British actors, I heard today that one of them has been cast as Superman. Anyway, the guy everyone is talking about is called Rupert Evans."
According to the IMDB, Evans stands at only 5'10", which would make him a rather short Man of Steel. Ain't It Cool News reports that they've heard Evans was "beefing up" for a role in JLA and adds that "Evans stepped up to give a very good reading as Superman when auditioning for Bryan Singer's Superman Returns."
In other JLA news, Movieblog.UGO.com reports that the Flash in the movie will be Barry Allen rather than Wally West. They also reveal that Allen's wife Iris will be in the film, as well as Batman's faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth. UGO claims that 14 pages of "leaked" script pages that recently surfaced online are bogus and offer their own information on what happens in the first act. The plot to JLA will reportedly borrow from the Brother Eye satellite storyline employed in Greg Rucka's six-issue limited series The OMAC Project.
According to UGO, "Will you get to see plenty of superhero fights? Sure including battles between OMAC robots and League members. The ending is pretty eventful and what goes down has major ramifications on the lives of at least two Leaguers. I'm pretty sure that some of the fanbase of one particular JLA superhero is going to be angry over what happens at the conclusion of the story regarding a heavy decision that the superhero(ine) has to make that comes as a suggestion from one of the film's villains. Yes, I did say villains, plural."

Just days after Teresa Palmer was reportedly cast to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Justice League of America movie comes word that another Aussie actress is under consideration for the role.
We can now add Perth-born model-actress Megan Gale to the list of Wonder-ful candidates, which includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Minka Kelly and Adrianne Palicki.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Gale, 31, is "short-listed" for the role of Wonder Woman in JLA. "Certainly Gale has been spotted paying visits to Fox Studios in recent weeks, which is where the George Miller-directed film will be shot," the paper claims, adding, "An announcement on the Wonder Woman role is expected next Tuesday."
Megan Gale's only has two film credits listed at IMDB.com. Besides the Italian comedy Stregati dalla luna, Gale's only other credit is a small role as "Dr. Orbit's Secretary" in 2005's Stealth, which co-starred Jessica Biel.
