So it seems the trick is going to be picking heros nobody else has picked, so the obvious choices are out.

I was always partial to the supernatural characters- so Deadman might be a good choice. Likewise The Phantom Stranger. Both DC characters. For an independent- how bout E-Man? The Spirit would be an indie supernatural type. As Rayne suggested- Ghost Rider....

Are you getting my drift here? It's a theme- The Ghostly Brigade or something like that.
