Don't know what "TRUE horror fans" implies, but I watched it. I got the feeling of what was trying to be done, but never quite got the feeling that that was what's happening during the movie. The actors were good and yet it still felt staged (ie the zombies in the streetlight down the block bit, finding the zoom button on the camera, etc). The sound fx seemed to be out of place as if the bits were dropped in randomly during dark scenes (yet in full stereo) and didn't match up with the rest of the audio giving it a phony vibe.
Overall, it was a mess as far as I'm concerned. You guys seem to be on the right track, but this was a 'Cloverfield' that didn't work out. I'd much rather see something original from you than an attempt to do something already done since I think you can do much better on your own efforts.
