Urge & Newb - Sure, some people might consider them "old." Personally, I consider them seasoned. With Urge's volleyball and martial arts prowess and Newb's, uhm, drinking prowess, I think that they would prove to be valiant protectors when the time comes.

Rod - When I was a n00b, one of my first threads was a similar "what would you do in the apocalypse" thread and I remember distinctly Rod saying that he and his family already had an apocalyptic survival plan. This was my introduction to Rod and, along with being being a total turn on, his post let me know that he would be a good guy to have around in case of apocalypse. Not to mention, he can play and sing some swingin' rockablilly to fill those lonely zombie-filled nights.

MurderDoll - Good God. There's a reason why she's been on people's lists so far - She's a badass who will absolutely rip the zombie motha fuckas apart with her bare hands. Dolly's a vicious Lone Wolf, but I figure, given the right incentive, she might come over to my side... ;)

Which ones would you pick for yourself, and suggest to your team members? Remember you will be going back on your boat which already has your team on it, so you wont have much space to stash as many weapons as you would like to take. For Dolly and myself - Machetes. I'm not much of a shot and I have a feeling that chopping will be so much more satisfying. Not to mention - they'll never run out of ammo.

Urge and Newb each get a shotgun and ammo. When they run out of ammo, they can use them as melee weapons.

Rod gets a six-shooter with plenty of ammo. I just have a feeling that he'll be my zombie-killing cowboy.

Freak gets a sniper rifle. I don't know - I just have a feeling he'd be good at sniping.

We need to get the HELL away from the city. I live in Central Mass, so I would move Westward. Settle in the Berkshires for a while. Idyllic zombie-fighting existence. Come winter, the zombies will freeze and we can spend Christmas shattering their frozen carcasses.
